During his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Prince Harry, aged 38, admitted that he had once asked Mike Tindall to autograph something for him.
Prince Harry Recalls Getting Mike Tindall’s Autograph
The segment, known as the Colbert Questionert, was broadcasted on Tuesday, 28th February 2023.
During a discussion concerning cuisine, preferred aromas, and existence beyond death, Colbert questioned Harry if he had ever requested somebody to sign their name.
In his comments, Harry said: “Yes. The England rugby team in 2003, in the Telstra Stadium at the World Cup Final — after a few drinks, wearing the England rugby top.
“I was walking around going ‘Johnny, Johnny! Mike, Mike! Lawrence, come on, sign my shirt’… I got all 15 signatures, which I was happy about.”
Mike, an accomplished 44-year-old rugby player, was part of the team that won the Rugby World Cup in 2003, the only time England has ever clinched the trophy.
In a remarkable coincidence, it was during this tournament in Australia that Mike encountered his future spouse, Zara Tindall , who is a first cousin of Prince Harry.
With that being said, this may now prove awkward for Harry. Since Mike is a member of the firm, he may not be best pleased to hear the attacks that Harry has made against the firm in his memoir, Spare.
This may be despite the fact that Harry has not actually referenced Mike in any way. After all, Mike is capable of looking after himself, as the social media reaction showed.
One person wrote: “Anyone noticed #Prince Harry hasn’t breathed a word about Mike Tindall. #MagicMike I think there would be more than a broken necklace if he dared to mention Zara too.”
It still remains to be seen if Harry and Mike are on good terms, but based on the social media response, this is unlikely. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
