While Triple H overseeing creative has seen several Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era superstars return to the WWE, there are a few people that fans would like to see return for whatever reason. A surprising name is Gene Snitsky, the muscular 6’8 retired power-brawler from Pennsylvania.
Retired WWE Superstar Gene Snitsky is Aware of the Comparisons to Strowman and Wants to Face Him and Roman Reigns
Mind you, Snitsky’s name is only surprising because most of his WWE run between 2004 and 2008 wasn’t memorable past his feud with Kane and Lita and the debut of his new look towards the end of his run.
However, as mentioned before Gene Snitsky was a decent power wrestler and a good brawler whose power game was the focus in WWE. His in-ring strengths were never really played up and that resulted in a mediocre run for what could’ve been a strong monster for someone like John Cena.
The 53-year-old spoke with Cheap Heat Productions and acknowledged the comparisons between him and went into two current superstars he’d love to face if he returned.
“Definitely Strowman. I get that all the time. They’re like, ‘Oh, man, it would be so great to see you wrestle Strowman,’ so that would definitely be one guy. I trained with all the Samoans. Afa (Roman Reigns’ uncle) was my trainer here in Pennsylvania at the Wild Samoan Pro Wrestling Training Center, so obviously I wouldn’t mind wrestling Roman Reigns. That would be cool.” (h/t: Sportskeeda)
Gene Snitsky finished up with WWE as part of the ill-fated ECW brand. He tagged with another WWE superstar who left and returned in LA Knight—then known as Shaun Ricker—in a losing effort against Cryme Tyme.
Honestly, a WWE return and match against either of these two might be out of the cards given that Snitsky didn’t leave on top. I always figured he would exit his 2018 retirement and end up taking the NWA World Heavyweight title. However, a prime Snitsky against Reigns or Strowman is intriguing to me.
Would you like to see Snitsky return to WWE? If so, how would you use him if you were Triple H? As always: let us know in the comments!
