Last night was another stop on the road to WrestleMania 39 – as Monday Night RAW was in Boston, Massachusetts. With John Cena & Logan Paul advertised to show up, the show was a massive success, drawing in 13,000 fans. Coming out of this show, we have three more confirmed matches for WrestleMania 39 – including a match for the United States Championship.
John Cena To Challenge For The WWE United States Championship At WrestleMania 39
When John Cena showed up on Monday Night RAW, it was to confront current WWE United States Champion Austin Theory. Theory has been calling out Cena for a while now, and finally get his wish last night. What would follow is Cena absolutely obliterating Theory in a promo, before saying that he will take the United States Championship at WrestleMania 39.
Should Cena get the win, it will be the first time he’s held a championship in WWE since his final reign as WWE Champion in 2017. This is easily the biggest match of Austin Theory’s young career, and a true sink or swim moment. He sunk during his promo with Cena, but has more chances to shine as WrestleMania draws closer.
Trish Stratus To Team With Becky Lynch & Lita In First Match Since 2019
One match that was rumored at WrestleMania 39 was a six woman tag team match between Becky Lynch, Lita & Trish Stratus and Damage CTRL. When Lynch & Lita won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships from Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky – this was set in motion, and the match would be confirmed last night.
This marks the first time Trish Stratus has wrestled since her retirement match against Charlotte Flair at Summerslam 2019. Retirement in wrestling is pretty flexible, and Stratus has remained in incredible shape – meaning she should surprise a lot of fans. This is likely to be a major moment in the career of Damage CTRL – and a win could well put them back on the right track.
Seth Rollins To Face Logan Paul
Finally, we got the confirmation of Seth Rollins vs. Logan Paul for WrestleMania 39. This marks the third singles match of Paul in 2023, having defeated The Miz at Summerslam 2022 and losing to Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel 2022. Paul was able to eliminate Rollins from the Royal Rumble earlier this year, leading to Rollins lashing out at Paul in interviews.
When Paul would follow this up by costing Rollins the WWE United States Championship during last months Elimination Chamber event, this match was all but confirmed. Now, we know that this match will happen at WrestleMania – and considering how great Paul has been and Rollins proven record – this match could steal the show.
