Following his final match (?), Ric Flair mentioned that he could end up wrestling again. He’s just leaving the door open in case the right offer and bout comes along. A rival of the past in Greg “The Hammer” Valentine wants a match against Ric Flair and believes they could really draw.
WWE Hall of Famer Wants a Match Against “Number 5” Ric Flair – Believes That “It Would Draw Big Money”
In speaking with Title Match Wrestling previously, Greg Valentine said that he is better than Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan. Mind you, he didn’t say that he just believed he was or that he was better–Valentine was confident that he is better than both men and others from his era. It was a bold claim and he touched on in a recent interview with TMR.
In the above interview, Valentine voiced that he is number one—in a wrestling sense—yet he’s interested in facing “number five” Ric Flair in a match. Not only that, he believes that it would draw a lot of cash.
“It’s gotta be big money, and I think it would draw big money too. It would pay for itself. Someone would make money doing that. Or you could have me and Flair as a tag team against somebody, The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, because they’re still working. I’d love to do that.”
The last time Greg Valentine wrestled regularly—almost monthly—was in 2009. His last match was in November 2019. Ric Flair last wrestled regularly in 2008 with WWE which ended in his match against HBK at WrestleMania 24. Following those years, both men went into semi-active mode before really dialing back their in-ring activity.
