In 2022, fans were deeply concerned about Adam Cole. During Forbidden Door’s Fatal Four Way match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, Cole would suffer a concussion.
This was nearly a career ending injury – but Cole was able to make a complete recovery, and return to the ring. It was not an easy process – and Bryan Danielson was someone who Cole found support from along the way.
Adam Cole Reveals Bryan Danielson Helped Him Through Injury Recovery Process
While speaking with Good Karma Wrestling, Adam Cole would reveal that Bryan Danielson was someone in constant contact with him throughout his recovery process. Cole had the following to say about Danielson.
“When I talk about the people that were incredibly helpful, Bryan Danielson absolutely was one of them. Considering what he went through and on top of that, he reached out, which I thought was so kind and so thoughtful of him because he understood in a lot of ways what I was going through. Bryan was incredibly resourceful and very, very helpful to me in my recovery process.”
Danielson was in a similar situation to Cole in the past, being temporarily retired due to issues surrounding concussions. His experiences likely helped Cole navigate his return to the ring – and helped give Cole hope that a return would come.
Feuding With Chris Jericho Since His In-Ring Return
Since making his return to the ring, Adam Cole has been placed into a feud with Chris Jericho. Cole was able to defeat Daniel Garcia in his return match, with his post match celebration drawing the ire of Jericho. Jericho & Cole met face to face recently on AEW Dynamite – with Cole being beaten down, with Britt Baker also caught in the crossfire.
It is unclear when Jericho & Cole will meet in their now highly anticipated match. Double Or Nothing 2023 is about a month away, but AEW could choose to instead have this as the main event of an episode of AEW Dynamite. Whenever they finally meet – fans will certain to be watching closely.
