Just when it seemed fans were losing interest in Blackpool Combat Club – they would show their mean streak in a big way. No one is safe in AEW, with them even putting The Elite’s manager Don Callis in the hospital.
Tonight, Aaron Rourke, Alvin Alvarez & Brother Greatness have been placed in the ring against Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta – as Bryan Danielson watches on from ringside.
Considering Dalton Castle & The Boys barely lasted three minutes against the BCC – their chances of victory are slim.
Blackpool Combat Club Are The Only Real Professional Wrestlers In The United States
Once they hit the ring, the Blackpool Combat Club would divide and conquer – cutting down their opponents one after one. A double spike piledriver on the floor would take one out.
Moxley choked out another, and Yuta beat the last into submission for the dominant victory. Yuta kept the hold on after the bell, as Bryan Danielson declared his love for the Blackpool Combat Club and professional wrestling.
Danielson would ask the crowd if their opponents tonight looked like professionals – and got a resounding no. He would go on to call them amateurs brought in by some boneheaded EVPs.
Hangman Page would hit the ring, and would be outnumbered by Claudio, Moxley & Yuta in seconds. Danielson would call Page an amateur – despite having lost to him in the past.
It would be declared that no one loves Page enough to save him, and Danielson would pull out a screwdriver. He would say that the house that is AEW needs to be fixed up after being run into the ground by amateurs.
Page would have his face gouged, and no one came to save him. Blackpool Combat Club are the only real professional wrestlers in the building, the company, and after what Danielson saw this past weekend – all of North America.
FTR Come Into Crucial Match Ice Cold After Dropping 3 Sets Of Titles In A Row
When The Gunns said there was nothing that FTR could offer to get a chance to become 2x AEW World Tag Team Champions – they didn’t expect FTR to put their AEW careers on the line.
A chance to rid AEW of Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler was enough to get The Gunns to agree to a title match – and now it’s time for a sink or swim moment for the current champions.
Either they beat what many consider the best tag team in the world and send them packing from AEW – or FTR once again top the best tag team division in the world.
Wheeler would kick things off with Colton, getting an open palm strike to the side of the head. Colton was sent off the ropes, and came back hard with a shoulder tackle.
Wheeler refused to stay down, and would make the tag to Harwood. Quick tags between FTR let them work together to break Colton down, and The Gunns would regroup on the floor.
Wheeler was sucked to the outside, with Austin holding him in place on the apron before Colton hit a big dropkick. Full Nelson Slam in the middle of the ring would follow, with Colton applying a tight rear chinlock in the middle of the ring.
Wheeler was able to briefly break free, and made a much needed tag to Harwood. Harwood would run down The Gunns with a series of rough strikes – showing why some call him Dax The Axe.
The Gunns Choke During Their Biggest Match To Date
Austin would duck a lariat and attempted the Sharpshooter, which Harwood was able to block into a small page for a two count.
FTR had the crowd behind them, and Wheeler was able to recover for the Spike Piledriver on Austin for a two count. Shatter Machine was set up – but Colton was there to make the save.
Gunns looked for 310 To Yuma, but FTR blocked and hit the Shatter Machine. Colton would yank the referee from the ring, hoping for a DQ – as that would still end FTR’s AEW careers.
Referee Paul Turner refused, but Wheeler was driven into the ring post before Harwood took a Fame Asser for a near fall.
A blatant low blow from Austin would follow, again The Gunns pulling for the DQ – Turner about to call it. Wheeler would stop him, before taking 310 to Yuma.
Austin would use the AEW World Tag Team Championship to block a diving headbutt, but Harwood refused to be pinned by this. Harwood would catch Colton with a Sunset Flip, and with Wheeler stopping Austin – we have new AEW World Tag Team Champions!
