The ‘Days of Our Lives’ star Aketra Sevillian (Taila) has revealed that her journey to starring on the soap opera was difficult. She said that she auditioned multiple times and was rejected, but she never gave up. Her persistence finally paid off and she landed a gig she has had her eyes on.

During an interview with Soap Opera Digest, actress, Sevillian shared what she went through before she landed her ‘Days of Our Lives’ role. She narrated how she auditioned several times, but she just couldn’t land a role. Sevillian wanted to be cast as the good girl and not the villain.
She said that she even auditioned for the role of Taila’s sister, Jada Hunter, but that didn’t work out for her either. Then a few months later, she was finally offered her ideal role – Taila.
Taila is a fun-loving, extroverted character that she related to. The director told the actress to “Make Talia you,” and she did just that. Playing Taila on ‘Days of Our Lives’ is a dream come true for Sevillian.

As for her experience on the set of DOOL, Aketra Sevillian said that she had a smooth experience, although she was a little nervous on her first day.
Sevillian said her co-stars were there to make her feel comfortable on her first day. She also praised Ari Zucker, who she refers to as a mother hen on set, and Greg Vaughan who helped her on set. She also had nice things to say about Elia Cantu, who plays Jada.
According to her, the duo bonded over being Aquarius. They even a FaceTime call the night before Sevillian’s first day as a DOOL cast member. Sevillian is grateful to have finally bagged a role on the soap opera, and she is happy that she is blessed with so many supporters on the set of the show.
