Recently, we would see All Elite Wrestling start up a new type of event. Known as AEW House Rules events, these non-televised events have opened up more chances for the talent of AEW to get into the ring.
Their start in the live event market has been well received by fans and talent, and former AEW World Champion Hangman Page sees it as great chance for younger talent to get ring time, and to let experienced wrestlers just have some fun.
Hangman Page Sees House Rules As A Chance To Have Fun, And Get Younger Talent More Ring Time
While speaking on WFXR – a local news Network in Salem Virginia to promote the House Rules event for May 13th, Hangman Page would be asked about the House Rules events. Page was quoted saying the following.
“They’re a good opportunity for younger guys to learn. They’re a good opportunity for guys like me to let our hair down, have fun, not worry about the constraints of television. So I’m really excited about that. It’s a good opportunity to visit somewhere like Roanoke, like Salem. Maybe it’s a test and if it does really well, maybe we come back with TV the next time.”
Page’s First AEW Match In Virginia Will Be Part Of A House Rules Event
This marks the first time Page will wrestle in Virginia for AEW. AEW has run four shows between Virginia & West Virginia, running 10 events between Dynamite, Dark, Dark: Elevation, and Rampage.
It’s a market which generally has brought hot crowds to AEW, and one that is generally visited each year. It’s unlikely this is the only date Virginia will get in 2023, especially if the show in Salem ends up being a success.
Currently, Page is off TV due to an attack from Bryan Danielson of the Blackpool Combat Club, who attacked Page using a screwdriver. Page has been realigning himself with The Elite.
He recently was seen coming to the aid of former tag team partner Kenny Omega. We can expect Page to return to TV before May 13th, likely showing up soon on Dynamite.
