Impact Wrestling is continuing to sign gems that were cast off or choose to leave the WWE, and their latest signing is Trinity Fatu, formally Naomi in the WWE.
The last news we heard about her that wasn’t speculation was following her and Mercedes Moné (Formerly Sasha Banks) walking out of WWE Raw over a disagreement over the creative direction of the women’s division and the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Trinity Fatu (Naomi) Set to Debut in Impact Wrestling Friday April 28
Mercedes has been lighting it up in NJPW, and we expect much the same from Fatu in Impact Wrestling. The news initially broke when Impact Wrestling sent out a tweet promoting a surprise at their television taping this weekend in Chicago:
“There will be a MAJOR SURPRISE THIS FRIDAY at #SpringSlugfest in Cicero Stadium in Chicago!”

Finding a new home
Mike Johnson of PWInsider further broke the news that Fatu is the surprise Impact touted for April 28.
He said it’s not a one off appearance on her part and may be the beginning of a run with the company.
Impact has proven itself to be able to give wrestlers a fair chance to fulfill their potential and discover themselves, especially after being beaten down by the larger companies that tend to do things their way instead of listening to talent.
It has also been reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select that Fatu and Impact Wrestling have been in discussions. She’s been seen backstage at NJPW, ROH, and GCW shows recently.
The WWE reportedly wanted to bring her back, but they’re under a hiring freeze for the moment and under new management since being purchased by Endeavor, so it could be some time before we see any more returns to the WWE.
This is a definite coup by Impact Wrestling as Fatu has one of the larger and most loyal fanbases in professional wrestling, but more than that she’ll be a great asset to the Knockouts Division.
Already arguably the best women’s division in pro wrestling, the Knockouts boast some amazing talent and they match the men with intensity and storytelling.
Unlike other companies, Impact has a history of not cutting minutes from a match simply because it’s a women’s match.
With talent like Deonna Purrazzo, Tasha Steelz, Rosemary, and more it’ll be fun to see the development of her character and storylines she’ll be a part of going forward.
