King Charles III and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, were present among the attendees who gathered in Dorset to honor Simon Elliot, who is the brother-in-law of Camilla.
Charles And Camilla Attend The Latter’s Brother-In-Law’s Funeral
The deceased had been married to the younger sister of the royal named Annabel for more than five decades. He recently passed away at the age of 82, as his close family were seen entering a service at Holy Trinity Church located in Stourpaine, Dorset.
To enable the procession of Simon’s coffin through the village, the police blocked all the routes leading to the church during the service. After the service, the attendees were observed heading towards The White Horse Inn, a nearby local pub.
It is believed that King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla were present at the funeral as a way of supporting Annabel, the widow, even though there are no photos of their arrival.
The Queen Consort’s sister-in-law had such a good relationship with her that she was asked to accompany the Queen and Charles on their honeymoon in Scotland along with her brother.
In the picture here, we can see Camilla standing next to her brother-in-law as they pose for a photo. She has a massive smile on her face and could not be any happier, which is why the death was a tough time for her.
Not only that, but the firm has also had to deal with another major passing. Just last year, the late Queen Elizabeth II had passed in the following months after the conclusion of her Platinum Jubilee which marked her 70th year in charge.
In addition, the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been speaking out against the firm has only added to the current turmoil. The social media response was one of sadness.
Large numbers of people came out to express their condolences at the news, which will not be easy in light of the fact that Camilla is readying herself for the King’s coronation on Saturday, 6th May 2023, which is just around the corner.
One person wrote: “May he rest in peace,” while another person stated: “The press don’t know when to stop sometimes, there shouldn’t have been any paps at this private member of the publics funeral.”
