When Rhea Ripley chose to target Charlotte Flair for WrestleMania 39 – Bianca Belair needed a challenger. Asuka would stake her claim at Elimination Chamber, winning the titular match to earn her shot.
Embracing her dark side, Asuka has been on another level since her return in the Royal Rumble – striking fear into the heart of even the EST of WWE. Tonight of Belair’s biggest challenge to date, a true sink or swim moment at WrestleMania.
Simply put – even if you’ve beaten Sasha Banks & Becky Lynch at WrestleMania, Asuka is showing why she once went years without being defeated.
For years, it’s been asked if people are ready for Asuka – and with the run she’s been on since returning earlier this year? It’s time to see if Belair is ready for Asuka.
Is Bianca Belair Ready For Asuka?
Belair would start fast with a series of dropkicks, forcing Asuka into the corner with some shoulder tackles. Asuka would manage to break free, but suffered another dropkick before some downward punches. Belair hit a vertical suplex and looked for a second – with Asuka able to counter.
A powerbomb attempt would see Belair use the ropes to remain safe, before hitting a Spinebuster in the middle of the ring for the two count.
Asuka would block the back handspring moonsault, trying for a triangle choke – but managing to shift into the Asuka Lock. Belair was able to roll to the outside, where she would try to hit a suplex.
Asuka was able to block and attempt an armbar, with Belair able to shift into a powerbomb on the floor. Asuka hit the floor with a thud, but by the time Belair rolled her into the ring – Asuka was somehow able to kick out.
Belair would try to hit a Spear in the ring, with Asuka able to side step – Belair nailing the ring post instead.
Glam Slam was set by Belair, but Asuka countered into a kneebar attempt. Belair was able to power her way to freedom, lifting Asuka into a back suplex.
Another attempt at the back handspring moonsault would result in Asuka going for an ankle lock. When thrown off, Asuka was able to scale the ropes and fly off with a missile dropkick.
A Battle To The Bitter End From Two Of WWE’s Best
Asuka would throw some swift kicks to the midsection on Belair, being sent to the apron as Belair was able to counter.
Belair would join Asuka on the apron, and blocked another kick before hitting a forearm smash – and having Asuka come back with a dropkick. Belair hit the post spine first, but was able to get revenge as she drove Asuka into the post face first.
Asuka would be brought into the ring the hard way, taken from the apron and into the middle of the ring with a deadlift superplex – which only got Belair a two count.
Pinfall attempts were traded on the floor, before Asuka switched to kicks – landing two to the head, and getting a two count for her efforts.
Asuka went for a dropkick, but Belair blocked and hit a running Blockbuster – before finally nailing the back handspring moonsault.
Belair would stomp on the chest of Asuka before heading to the top rope, which wasn’t enough to secure a dive. Asuka would climb up to meet Belair, only to end up on her shoulders.
Belair would have her braid yanked to get free, with Asuka using it to set up a Coebreaker. Asuka would almost end up in the KO-D – with the referee being knocked.
Belair would duck the blue mist attack – but KO-D was blocked. Flying armbar would catch Belair in the middle of the ring – but she’d fight through the pain.
Asuka was lifted into the position for the KO-D – and yes, Bianca Belair was ready for Asuka. Her 366 day reign remains intact – and it’s becoming impossible to bet against the EST of WWE.
