Jack Perry was able to work alongside Darby Allin in a recent tag team match to get the biggest match of his career. At Double or Nothing, he will be one of four men in a Fatal Four Way match for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.
Looking to prove he’s ready for this level of match, he will look to cut down a dominant name in RUSH – who held the ROH World Championship twice. RUSH is as dangerous as an opponent comes in AEW, and would love to get a shot at MJF himself.
Jack Perry Does What It Takes To Survive RUSH – Darby Allin & Sammy Guevara Stand Together
RUSH would immediately send Perry from the ring, driving him into the steel barricades at ringside. Perry had already fell to one of the traps of RUSH by being taken to the floor where the rules can be stretched. Jose The Assistant would grab some spare camera cables, before RUSH would break the referees count.
Perry would be driven into the barricade once again, and was already bleeding in this match. RUSH would open the wound to let the blood flow into the eyes, before throwing Perry over the barricade. Taking time to pose in the ring, RUSH would allow Perry some time to recover. Back in the ring, Perry would use the corner to find his feet before taking some stiff chops.
A dropkick from Perry would get him an opening, catching RUSH on the jaw. A frankensteiner would follow – before Joe grabbed the leg of Perry. RUSH attempted to use a Flying Elbow, but Perry would counter into the Snare Trap. Unable to maintain his grip, Perry would lose the hold as RUSH got a rope break.
A battle on the apron would lead to a nasty fall, with Perry tossed with a Belly To Belly Suplex to the floor. RUSH would set up Bulls Horns in the ring, but an argument with the referee led to an opening for Perry. A roll up with the trunks from Perry showed his willingness to do anything to get the win.
After the bell, Darby Allin helped Perry fend off L.F.I – but was overwhelmed. Guevara would rush the ring to make the save next. There is respect between Allin & Guevara, and while they’re not friends – they can work together as needed.
From the moment Jay White arrived in All Elite Wrestling, he’s looked to make a name for himself by taking out Ricky Starks. Starks had just come off two victories over Chris Jericho and a shot at the AEW World Championship, making him a perfect topic.
Since then, White & Juice Robinson have picked away at Starks to little success. Tonight, White steps into the ring one on one with Starks, and looks to get a major win just ahead of Double Or Nothing.
Starks would get a heroes welcome in Texas – and was quick to run White from the ring. White would use the ropes and referee to grab a headlock, and the second Starks gained control – he again fled. Starks would lose the high ground as he went to the floor after White. He’d be stomped by White, before this match went to the floor – with White driven spine first into the guard rail.
White would gain control using some heavy handed chops, before driving Starks back first into the barricade. Back in the ring, White kept the pressure on Starks – catching a kick and hitting a perfect Dragon Screw. White drive Starks into the corner with some shoulder tackles, before hitting a sidewalk slam.
Starks would fight off a tight waist lock from White, only to take a forearm shot to the spine. White would be dropped with a lariat from Starks, with the damage to the knee from the Dragon Screw stopping him from following up quick. Starks would manage a big swinging DDT, with White able to kick out at two.
A DQ Is Fine If It Means Damage To Jay White
White would drop Starks across the rope with a suplex, before spiking him down with a Uranage. Sleeper Suplex would be set up by White, with Starks fighting out with some elbow smashes to the face of White. In response, White simply threw Starks over the top rope – and watched as he crashed to the floor.
Back in the ring, Starks would execute an inside cradle for a two count, gaining some ground in the process. A spinning neckbreaker and Northern Lights Bomb would follow, but White was able to kick out just before three. Roshambo would be set, and White countered. Robinson grabbed the ankle as Starks looked for the Spear, allowing White to counter.
Starks would hit the spear on the second attempt – but wanted the Roshambo to end this. Instead, he’d have his eyes gouged. Robinson hit the ring with a steel chair – and Starks disarmed him. Accepting his fate, he’d take the DQ – bashing both Robinson & White with the chair. White gets the win, but Starks stands tall in Texas.
Hangman Page Rejoins The Elite
Last week, Don Callis would betray Kenny Omega. He stabbed Omega with a screwdriver during a steel cage match against Jon Moxley – handing Moxley the win. For the past week, fans have been asking why Callis would betray someone who was like a son to him, and tonight – we get our answers. Don Callis has been given some promo time, and will have a chance to explain his actions.
The crowd would chant their opinion of Callis, calling him a piece of shit. Callis would explain that it’s not what he did to Omega, it’s what Omega did to him. There is only one victim here, and it’s Don Callis. Omega became IWGP World Champion, battled Chris Jericho, and won the AEW World Championship because of Callis. Without Callis, there is no Omega.
Omega would battle the security guards protecting Callis, only for Blackpool Combat Club to attack from behind. They’d join Callis in the ring, and Moxley said The Elite could never touch the BCC – and Omega needs to just stay down. The BCC would claim to be the real Elite. Earlier in the night, The Young Bucks were beaten down in the parking lot, but came out with weapons – but they’re still outnumbered.
Evening the numbers is a former member of The Elite – Hangman Page. Back together, The Elite would take the fight to the BCC, with Yuta taking the BTE Trigger and the Buckshot Lariat. Page said they’re the heart of AEW, soul of AEW, and they’re ready for Anarchy In The Arena.
