UFC president Dana White isn’t interested in boxing vs MMA fights, unless they happen under his roof. Following the recent social media fracas surrounding UFC heavyweight champ Jon Jones and Tyson Fury, White told BroBible that the heavyweight boxer has the chance to prove himself in the Octagon.
“Jon Jones is the baddest dude on the planet. There’s no debate, there’s no denying it. There’s no debate. I don’t care what anybody says, everybody can try to spin it, a lot of this stuff is clickbait, and you know how I am.
UFC President Dana White Offers Tyson Fury Jon Jones MMA Fight
If Tyson Fury really wants to fight Jon Jones in the UFC, I will make it happen. Here’s my thing right now to Tyson Fury, ‘Tyson, if you’re serious, let me know.’ Tyson and I have a good relationship. I like Tyson Fury.”
Tyson Fury recently took offense to the notion – floated by UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan – that he would come off worse in a fight against Jon Jones. Rogan said:
“You want to talk about who’s the baddest man on the planet? If Jon Jones and Tyson Fury are locked into a room, I’m pushing all of my chips on black.
Tyson Fury is an amazing boxer – he doesn’t have a f***ing chance in hell of making it out of that room. He has no chance of making it out of that room. Zero chance. [Fury] would have to catch Jon immediately with one punch, and I just don’t see that happening, man.”
Fury was not happy about the idea that Jon Jones could beat him in a fight. “I heard Joe Rogan say something about me, and I’ve been off all the social medias and didn’t reply to that little p****, little f****** midget, bald-headed midget. I heard him say that Jon Jones could f*** me up if we were in the room together.
I don’t think so. Not a man born from a mother could f*** me up, in a room, on our own. Whatever happens in that room, I’d be walking out. Not a f****** problem.”
Dana White, for his part, is definitely curious about the matchup. “Let’s find out.
Listen, we can talk all we want. Tyson can talk, Jon Jones can talk, I can talk, we can all talk. Let’s do it. If Tyson’s serious and he wants to do it—I got Floyd Mayweather to fight. We paid Floyd and got Floyd the number he wanted. If Tyson Fury is serious and he wants to fight Jon Jones in the UFC, let’s start talking.”
