There is a very limited list of names who were bigger in professional wrestling during the ‘90s than Bill Goldberg. His rise through the ranks and undefeated streak in World Championship Wrestling is simply the stuff of legends, something companies like WWE & AEW have tried to recreate to no success.
Now done with WWE after his last contract came to an end – Goldberg has been eyeing a retirement tour, but had a set back after losing a fight to a tractor.
Goldberg Left Bleeding After Tractor Accident, Brushes It Off As Simple Flesh Wound
TMZ Sports would report that Goldberg got hurt after an accident on his property involving a tractor. Thankfully, damage was minimal – and Goldberg was just left with a wound after hitting his head off a tractor. When asked for comments, Goldberg brushed off the incident – and would respond that it was “just a flesh wound”.
It looks no worse than what you would see your average hardcore match – which is a good outcome given the damage that could be caused by a tractor.
This will only be a minor setback for Goldberg, as he looks to set up the final matches of his career. We have not gotten any information on what venues or talent will be involved, simply that Goldberg intends to end his career on his own terms.
As of the time of writing, Goldberg’s last match came in a defeat to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022. The match ended in just 6 minutes, with Reigns able to choke Goldberg out to claim victory. WWE had promised Goldberg a proper retirement match, but failed to deliver in the end.
There is little doubt that Goldberg will be able to use his name value to put together some shows, and with the depth of talent in the industry outside of WWE & All Elite Wrestling?
These shows could be stacked with matches. One name from AEW who hopes to face Goldberg is the current TNT Champion Wardlow, and you can read more about this here.
