Hangman Page & The Young Bucks are firmly back on the same page – and were a key part in a ten man tag team victory at Forbidden Door. Tonight, they will team up once again for a trios match – and look to perhaps aim their focus towards the AEW World Trios Champions, House of Black.
Adding some spice to the match is the challenge from Page’s former friends in the Dark Order. Page had ghosted them for months, and now is facing the consequences of his actions.
With ten wins in their last eleven trios matches, Dark Order aren’t to be overlooked – even against The Elite. Add in extra motivation, damage to Page and the Young Bucks after Forbidden Door, and tonight could be their night. Page was visibly conflicted hitting the ring, and will be battling an emotional fight in this one.
Dark Order Came To Fight Tonight, Hangman Page Is Conflicted
Nick Jackson would kick things off with Alex Reynolds, locking up in the middle of the ring. Reynolds got a hammerlock, before taking Nick to the floor with a Crucifix Pinfall for a one count.
Nick would use the ropes to break free with a flip before an arm drag takedown. Reynolds would be taken down with another arm drag, this time from the top rope with a corkscrew included.
John Silver would get the tag and call for Page to get in with him. After a verbal exchange, Page was taken down to the mat with a headscissor.
Page would get free and apply the headlock, with Silver shoving him off and absorbing the shoulder tackle. A back elbow to the face would land, with Silver asking Page to fight back – but instead a tag to Matt Jackson would follow.
Evil Uno would meet Matt, and would get a cheap shot in on Page on the apron. Uno showed no hesitation before the Young Bucks hit the ring and would cut Dark Order down with tag team chemistry. They’d be run down by a double lariat from Uno, who got into an argument with Page – who said this is not a fight.
Uno would take a double superkick and roll to the floor, before the Bucks would dive onto Silver & Reynolds. Page would get the reluctant tag – but would tag out before getting physical with Alex Reynolds. He’d leave the corner as Reynolds was sent in – leaving this one to the Bucks for the moment.
Hangman Page Pulls The Trigger On John Silver
Matt would apply a rear chinlock on Reynolds, before Silver would help his partner free. Silver would be set up in the corner as Reynolds was catapulted into a kick and elbow drop.
Nick would rush across the ring and drop Silver with a backstabber. Page would get the tag, and drove Reynolds into the corner with a shoulder tackle, getting out as quick as he could.
Matt would hit a double axe handle to the back of Reynolds, before accidentally getting Nick with a kick to the face. Uno would get the tag and take advantage with a big boot before coming face to face with Page. A stiff slap to the face would snap Page out of his funk and Page would finally trade blows in this match.
Uno hit a chop to the throat, with Page having issues keeping up as Dark order would take out the Bucks and set up a three on one situation. Stunner into the German Suplex would set up a near fall on Page, before setting up Pendulum Bomb. Page was saved by Nick, and Silver took the lariat.
Buckshot Lariat was blocked into a hurricanrana, getting a near fall. Deadeye would follow, before the BTE Trigger and the Buckshot Lariat.
Dark Order Doesn’t Help Against Blackpool Combat Club, Blood & Guts Challenge Is Laid Out
Page would apologise to Silver after the bell, before the Blackpool Combat Club would beat The Elite down. A screwdriver to the forehead of Page still didn’t get Dark Order to help.
Kingston would make the save, but Page was focused on Dark Order not helping. Kingston was put in an armbar, and Moxley had something to say.
It’s time this feud comes to an end, and there’s only one way to end it. July 19th, BLOOD & GUTS. With this in the middle of the G1 Climax, Kingston might not be on call – meaning The Elite needs to find allies, and find them fast.
Kingston is possibly able to show up, with matches on the 16th and 23rd – but can he risk injury in the biggest tournament of his life in a match like Blood & Guts?
Dark Order could be key to this, but as shown by tonight – it will be very hard to get them back on the side of Page. The Elite will need to dig deep into their playbook to find a fifth man, and Kenny Omega might know someone.
Jack Perry Explains His Forbidden Door Actions
Jack Perry snapped after his loss to IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA. While the FTW Champion HOOK tried to offer support, Perry was having none of it – and attacked him before storming off.
This shocked the fans, shocked HOOK, and especially shocked Taz. Tonight, Perry is being given a chance to explain his actions – and perhaps shed some light of what he plans to do next.
Perry would say that fans ruined Tarzan Boy for him – and it will never be played again as a result. He’s still a young star, cashing big checks, and banging the hottest chick in AEW – Perry is a made man at 26 years old even without gold. Perry posed the question if he turned his back on HOOK, or has everyone in AEW turned his back on him?
After losing two championship matches, having an entitled second generation wrestler dangle some unofficial belt in his face was unwelcome at best.
HOOK is a fraud, and JungleHOOK was only relevant because of the efforts of Perry. He’s a former AEW World Tag Team Champion, and HOOK was lucky to team with him.
While the FTW Championship is unrecognised – he knows how much it means to HOOK and his dad. He will take it for that reason, and put that belt where he belongs. The music of HOOK would hit, and he’d rush the ring – causing Perry to run for the hills.
Can Perry hand HOOK his first loss? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
