Daniel Garcia has fallen short twice against AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy, and intends to make the most of a third attempt. Tonight, we will see them match up in trios action – as Garcia brings Jericho Appreciation Society allies Matt Menard & Angelo Parker into battle, asking Cassidy to pick partners.
Best Friends are in the UK promoting AEW Fight Forever, and Bandido is injured – so Cassidy would look elsewhere. He’s bringing in Keith Lee & El Hijo Del Vikingo – which is as good of picks as possible.
Eddie Kingston Comes Face To Face With Jon Moxley In Backstage Argument
Following their encounter after the match between Moxley & Kingston – they would get into a backstage argument. Moxley stated that he doesn’t care about some beef from ten years ago in a now defunct company – and even Renee Paquette would state that Kingston & Moxley need to sort this nonsense out.
Kingston’s obsession with Claudio Castagnoli is making him a deranged individual, and he’s ready to throw out a lifelong friendship with Moxley because they’re factionmates.
This situation is fast approaching it’s boiling point, and Kingston will be someone to watch closely as a result – though his trip to Japan to be in the G1 Climax will allow him to release steam.
A First Time Trio Squares Off Against The J.A.S
On their way to the ring, Vikingo & Cassidy had a brief staredown – with Vikingo eyeing the championship of Cassidy. Already the AAA Mega Champion – he wouldn’t mind adding AEW gold to it.
Vikingo would start with Garcia, who would show his insane speed as he floated to the apron for a springboard armdrag.
Parker would tag in alongside Cassidy, taking time to pose with his switchblade comb. Cassidy would take and pocket it, before Menard rushed in and missed a lariat.
Parker & Menard would be stacked in the corner, before a dropkick from Cassidy. Garcia would go after the injured hand of Cassidy, but ended up trapped in a Bow & Arrow Stretch as Vikingo would hit a diving foot stomp.
Vikingo would hit a running shooting star press, before the J.A.S would lure him to the floor for a three on one attack. He’d be isolated in the corner of the ring as they cut the ring in half. Even before being involved with Jericho, these three were a defined trio – having top level chemistry, especially against a first time team.
Lee would fire up on the apron, waiting for a tag as Vikingo would spring off the ropes and hit a swift kick to the head of Parker.
The tag would be prevented, as Parker pulled Vikingo away and Menard would get a tag and hit a big powerbomb. Parker used Menard as a springboard for a big elbow smash.
Keith Lee Is The Difference Maker
Lee would be attacked in the corner, before Vikingo tagged him in. A slingshot crossbody took down Parker & Mendard, before a three on one attack would beat him down to the mat.
Garcia danced on his back, before Lee rose and put him on his shoulders. While Garcia was on his shoulders, Lee would hit a big double lariat – before Lee was sent to the floor.
Vikingo would try for a dive to the floor but got Lee instead. This almost looked like an implosion, as Lee lifted Vikingo into a powerbomb, but used him as a weapon to beat down Parker & Menard. Lee would then toss Vikingo to the corner so he could complete a dive.
In the ring, Cassidy & Garcia would meet – with Garcia getting the Dragon Tamer applied. Vikingo would make the save with a superkick, before Lee got the tag.
Menard would try some chops on Lee, getting little success. Lee would set up the Supernova – and Menard was unable to prevent this despite a flurry of elbow smashes – and this match was over.
Hangman Page Has Been A Bad Friend To Dark Order
Following this match, we would catch up with Hangman Page & The Young Bucks. They had an open contract for a trios match tonight, and were hoping to find out who would step up and challenge them.
Instead, they were met by John Silver, Alex Reynolds & Evil Uno of Dark Order. Formerly friends with Hangman Page, they had a bone to pick.
After being by his side during the lowest part of his AEW career – helping him battle The Elite, Page threw them to the side to reunite with his former friends.
In doing so, he completely fell out of contact with Dark Order for months. Because of this, they are accepting the open challenge, and are no longer friends with Page – but now his opponents.
Can Dark Order prove their point in the ring tonight? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
