The Gunns are still trying to find their place with the breakup of The Firm, and their loss of the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
They are potentially linked to Bullet Club Gold now, but tonight have a major chance to raise their stock. Facing down tag team legends in Matt & Jeff Hardy – The Gunns are entering their biggest match to date, yet another sink or swim moment in their AEW career.
Who Is The Best Brother Tag Team In AEW?
Matt & Austin would start the match, with the crowd chanting ‘Ass Boys’ which got into the head of Austin. Austin would be driven into the corner and smacked on his ass, before an arm wrench set up a tag to Jeff.
A double back elbow would set up the jumping senton and fist drop, before Colton got involved before taking the Poetry In Motion in the corner.
Austin would take the Whisper In The Wind – Jeff getting a near fall. Colton would get a cheap shot in from the apron, allowing The Gunns to take control of the match.
Austin would apply a rear chinlock on Jeff, but was tossed to the floor as Jeff broke free. Colton helped Austin into the ring and made the tag, before missing a jumping splash into the corner.
Matt would get the tag as Jeff broke across the ring, with Austin taking a big time Side Effect. Colton was tossed to the floor, and Austin would be hit with the Twist Of Fate, falling in place for Colton to put the foot on the rope to save the match.
The ropes would save Austin from another Twist of Fate, before Colton hit the twisting butterfly DDT – but Jeff would break the pinfall up.
CM Punk Returns To AEW Dynamite – But Knows He’s A Collision Guy
Jeff would hit a double leg drop, getting the groin of both Gunns before trying to the Twist of Fate. Colton blocked, but Jeff wouldn’t be denied – and hit the Twist of Fate on the second attempt.
Jay White & Juice Robinson hit the ring to prevent the Swanton Bomb, and Jeff would fall to 310 To Yuma. This is the first traditional tag team loss for The Hardys in AEW.
Bullet Club Gold would start a brawl after the match, with FTR & Ricky Starks coming to the aid of The Hardys. This wouldn’t be enough, but CM Punk hit the ring – and would finally send Bullet Club Gold running.
Punk would say he’s not supposed to be on Dynamite, but would lay down the challenge for AEW Collision this Saturday – the last stop before Forbidden Door.
Briscoe vs. Jarrett In A Wild Concession Stand Brawl
For months now, Jeff Jarrett has tried to figure out what Mark Briscoe is all about. After Briscoe would help FTR retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships at Double or Nothing however, Jarrett now knows that Briscoe is a threat to him.
Tonight, they will brawl it out – as Jarrett brings the Concession Stand Brawl from Memphis to AEW. There will be no rules, plenty of violence, and only one man left standing when the smoke settles.
Starting back by the Concession Stand, Briscoe & Jarrett would get into it – with AEW fans goading them on. Jarrett would take a trash can to the back, before Briscoe would throw him through a table.
Excalibur gave the history, with the first match of this type being violence redefined 33 years ago. Jarrett would take some mustard to the back, before Briscoe threw hotdogs at him. Karen Jarrett would come to the aid of her husband, using some ketchup to briefly blind Briscoe.
Jarrett would be set on a table, and Briscoe found a later – but was shoved off by Sonjay Dutt. Brawling into the stands, Jarrett would take the upper hand due to his aid from Dutt & Karen.
Briscoe would keep fighting, having the entire crowd behind him. Using a steel chair, Briscoe took control before Jay Lethal would get involved next.
With A Little Help From His Friends
With the numbers firmly against him, Briscoe was taken into the ring and stomped on by three men. Dutt would get some mounted punches in, and finally Mark found some aid.
Papa Briscoe was here, and would chokeslam Lethal through the table before hitting a set of lariats on Jarrett & Dutt. Karen would hit a low blow to take Papa out, but Mark had a chance – before Satnam Singh walked up and hit a sky high chokeslam.
Christopher Daniels & Best Friends would come to fight Singh, with Lucha Bros behind. Singh would be isolated, and Mark would roll up Jarrett for the win.
With a little help from his friends and his dad, Mark was able to get the victory – and he’d reach for the sky, pointing to where his brother resides.
