All Elite Wrestling are once again expanding their weekly TV schedule. As we close in on episode 100 of AEW Rampage – AEW is adding a new weekend show in the form of AEW Collision.
This will be a live two hour show much like AEW Dynamite, and has a home on Saturday nights. Many would assume that this show would come with a brand split of sorts – Tony Khan has shot down those rumours just ahead of the debut of Collision tomorrow night.
Tony Khan Clears The Air About A Potential Brand Split
While appearing on Busted Open Radio, Tony Khan would be asked about the rumours of a hard roster split coming – and would finally deny them completely. Khan would have the following to say – noting that stars will be appearing on both Dynamite & Collision.
No, it’s not a separate roster. It gives us an opportunity to showcase a lot of the top stars in AEW and feature certain stars week to week. I never said there would be a hard roster split. In recent media appearances, I’ve been making it pretty clear that it won’t be and it’s a great opportunity for the fans to see featured stars on these Dynamite shows and Collision shows week in and week out. But also we can have rivalries carry over between shows and utilize the shows to make follow-up matches or settle grudges or book big title matches…”
We can expect some names to be more featured on certain shows. CM Punk is set to be the main star for AEW Collision, while someone like Britt Baker has likely set up her schedule as a wrestler and dentist around working primarily Wednesday nights.
Miro & Andrade El Idolo also have been set up as feature stars on Collision, both making their return to the ring tomorrow alongside CM Punk. Andrade will face House of Black’s Buddy Matthews, while Miro has no announced opponent.
