Alexa Bliss is a fan favorite in the WWE, and fans have been wondering why she hasn’t appeared in the WWE for a couple of months.
Speculation ran rampant that she was injured and had other issues she was dealing with, but on Tuesday, May 30, she and her husband Ryan Cabrera announced they’re pregnant.
The news came as a surprise for fans, but more so for the couple as they sat down with themessenger.com for an exclusive interview and Alexa explained how she learned she was pregnant and Ryan talked about how it ended up being the perfect timing for them.
Surprise!
Alexa was in the process of preparing for her return to the ring when she started experiencing cramps. Special thanks to themessenger.com for the transcript.
“I was preparing for my return in the ring and I was just having really bad cramping. I thought that was weird,” Bliss recalled on Wednesday. “So then I just decided to take a test and then I think I said, ‘Oh s—t.'”
Ryan elaborated that the timing ended up being perfect for them given where they were in their personal lives and careers.
“We always talked about that we were definitely going to have kids and we both have wanted kids. We just didn’t know what the right time was with everything,” he shared. “And then it just accidentally happened. At first we were both like, ‘Uh oh, what are we going to do?'”
“After a couple days, it actually settled in, we’re like, ‘You know what? This is actually a great time for us,'” Cabrera explained. “We got to be just married for a year, so we got to enjoy honeymoons and fun stuff like that. And just [enjoy] each other.”
For Alexa, she was getting ready to appear on “The Masked Singer” after taking time off from the WWE and it gave her the chance to rework her WWE contract.
“WWE gave me time off for [Masked Singer] to kind of fully dive into that experience with rehearsals, vocal lessons, and all that stuff. Storyline-wise, I was not on TV anyway, so it really kind of worked out perfectly,” Bliss said. “[WWE] extended my contract, and so it’s just basically come back when I’m ready. Probably a month after the baby, I’ll start probably getting back into the gym, and getting ready for to see what my in-ring return looks like.”
Here come the cravings
We’ve all heard jokes about the different cravings women go through while pregnant like ice cream and pickles and some really odd choices made famous on sitcoms, whether they’re true or not is always a source of debate.
As for Alexa, her friends have worked to get ice cream sent from her favorite shop in Ohio, and Ryan FaceTimed her favorite restaurant in Ohio to find out how they make their French fries.
Alexa’s a self described French fry connoisseur and she knows the ins and out of French fries from every state and even Saudi Arabia.
With their baby expected in December, they have a lot to do and a lot to look forward to. We offer our congratulations to them and wish them the best.
