Since Winter Is Coming 2020, All Elite Wrestling has been home to one of the biggest legends in professional wrestling. Sting joined the company after it seemed like his in-ring career was over after injuries suffered in WWE.
That premature retirement has driven Sting to prove that he has a lot left in the tank, despite being over 60 years old. This would lead him to dive off a ladder on a recent episode of AEW Dynamite, something which Darby Allin stresses was Sting’s own idea.
Sting Is Doing Great After His Insane Dive
The tag team partner and protege of Sting would recently appear on Busted Open Radio, where he would provide an update on the condition of Sting after the recent Tornado Tag Team match. Allin would also stress that Sting is the one to came up with him, and not Allin’s daredevil instincts rubbing off on the legend.
“He’s actually doing great. We talked the day after and he said he’s feeling great, which is awesome because I pulled him aside after that match and said, ‘be honest with me, how are you feeling? Not just your mouth, but your neck, every single thing about your body.’
People forget that he retired in 2014 when he took a buckle bomb. For him to be going as hard. Trust me, it’s none of my ideas. It’s all him. ‘Alright, is there a ladder here tonight? I’ll jump off it.’ A lot of people think it’s me being the bad influence, but no, it’s him. He has that hunger and that want to give the fans something. He’s feeling great and I’m stoked.”
There is rarely a clear idea on when we will next see Sting in an AEW ring, with his appearances generally being a surprise. Many feel there is a strong chance he’s part of All In at Wembley Stadium later this year – as AEW will be looking to pull out all the stops on their biggest show so far.
Having already sold 75k tickets before announcing any matches, putting a Sting match on the card will ensure that older fans get sent home happy.
