Josh Alexander came out to the ring to chants of “Walking Weapon!” and he soaked up the moment before saying it’s good to be back.
After being welcomed back, he said he loves the fans and being there, but it’s bittersweet because the last time he was in the ring around Slammiversary in Windsor when he had to relinquish his championship.
He talked about how he worked so hard to get his championship but it was taken away by a freak injury. He was sure he’d come back better than ever, but while at home he was full of doubt and it was the toughest thing he’s done in a long time.
When he saw Rebellion with the Impact World Championship it motivated him because he knew he had to come back and win the title back.
Every day he worked more than the day before, and he announced he’s 100% cleared for in ring competition.
He’s there for more than to compete, but to win back what he never lost. He wished he was standing across from Steve Maclin, but Alex Shelley shocked the world but he knows how amazing he is.
He then asked if Alex Shelley is good enough to beat Josh Alexander, and Shelley came out in response.
Lying in wait
Shelley called him Wolverine for healing so fast and he knew he’d want the title back, but it’s his now. He said when he went toe to toe with Alexander and lost because Josh was the better man.
So in answer to Josh’s questions, Shelley said how the title helped Josh live out a dream but at some point you have to wake up. Josh wants the match and Shelley wants to prove it to himself, so he said they do it.

Lio Rush came out next and told them to wait, and he reminded them he won the X-Division Championship after he said he would, but he beat Shelley’s best friend.
Rush then said if he wants to be the Impact World Champion he has to exercise Option C, and Kushida came out wearing the Ultimate X.
Kushida reminded him there is no Option C until Rush faces him, and the signaled Bully Ray to come out.
While everyone was focused on him Moose and Myers attacked them from behind while Rush ducked out and they beat down Kushida, Shelley, and Josh.
Bully held Shelley and Ruch was given the chance to hit him but he ducked out of the ring so Myers nailed Shelley with a clothesline as the show went off the air.
This was a fun ending to the show, but it felt a little abrupt like a bad editing job, but that could’ve been intentional.
