Since he moved to the heavyweight division of New Japan Pro Wrestling, fans have learned just how good Kenny Omega could be. Previously known as a talented high flyer, Omega would show that he was as well rounded as a professional wrestler can be.
After reaching the top of Japan, Omega would help form All Elite Wrestling – and has been winning over fans all over North America in the process. His recent singles matches with Will Ospreay have fans singing his praises once again, and those fans include Tony Schiavone.
Kenny Omega Is One Of The Best Professional Wrestlers That Schiavone Has Ever Been Around
During the latest “What Happened When” podcast – Tony Schiavone would talk about how Ospreay vs. Omega II might have been the best match of all time, and shared the following praise.
“There’s a lot of reasons this is one of the best matches ever. To me, Kenny Omega is one of the best performers I’ve ever been around in my life. Will Ospreay, I’ve seen some of his matches, but not as many as a lot of people who’ve followed New Japan Pro Wrestling. I have such a respect for both men and I knew going into it that this was going to be something special. I knew going in when I saw the card that Okada and Danielson deserved to be the main event, but that Okada and Omega would steal the show. I knew that was going to happen and I think most people did too.”
The match has been universally praised, with some wondering if Ospreay & Omega will try to top this match at AEW All In later this year in Wembley Stadium.
A Best Two Out Of Three Falls stipulation seems like the logical step, as they look to conclude this trilogy with a bang during the biggest show in AEW history.
Kenny Omega is going to be in action later this week, as he faces Blackpool Combat Club member Wheeler Yuta in a singles match on AEW Dynamite.
In addition to this, Omega is preparing to enter Blood & Guts – as The Elite will face the BCC in the double caged structure on July 12th.
