Christian Cage knows that Greensboro is the home of legends in professional wrestling. This makes it fitting that tonight, his legend as the maker of TNT Champions continues.
With the champion Luchasaurus by his side and the belt over his shoulder, Cage has a lot to say tonight – and has been given time to do so.
Arn Anderson Reminds Christian Cage That He’s In Horseman Country
Last night, Darby Allin defeated Brian Cage on AEW Rampage – only for Luchasaurus to attack after the bell. They are set to meet at All Out on September 3rd, with the TNT Championship on the line. Cage would call the crowd ‘the biggest family reunion’ he’s ever seen, and told them to be quiet while he speaks.
He’d comment on North Carolina’s history with people who are second best, like how Michael Jordan is second best to Lebron James, and how every wrestler from North Carolina is second best to Christian Cage.
He doesn’t ask much from the AEW roster, simply wanting respect – but Allin has refused to show even the smallest scrap of respect. Allin says he paints half his face because he’s ‘50% dead inside’, and if Allin continues to target this belt – he’ll give that other 50%.
Arn Anderson would come to the stage, with his son Brock Anderson – a proud son of North Carolina. Anderson said that Cage is standing on hallowed ground, right in Horseman Country – and they want revenge for when Arn was left in a bloody mess. Cage would offer an open challenge – and Brock would hit the ring with gold in his eyes.
The TNT Champion Crushes Brock Anderson – Darby Allin Attacks
The match would become official, in the Greensboro Coliseum where his dad won TV Championships. Brock would rush to fight Luchasaurus, taking a big boot and superkick. A clubbing blow to the chest on the apron would see Brock sent to the floor – where Arn ensured Cage didn’t get involved.
Back in the ring, Brock was lifted into a backdrop suplex, before being choked in the corner. Luchasaurus would keep the pressure on with a scoop slam before some hard strikes, before a tight shoulder claw would be applied. Brock was having a hard time staying in the fight, as he reached his feet and was dropped with a nasty release suplex.
Luchasaurus would take some hard strikes as Brock would keep fighting – before hitting a big chokeslam. A reverse chokeslam would follow, and Luchasarus would retain his TNT Championship.
Darby Allin would attack from behind – jumping off the top rope with his skateboard onto the spine of the TNT Champion. He’d call out Christian Cage for a singles match next week, and Cage accepted.
Powerhouse Hobbs Calls Out Miro
Powerhouse Hobbs is at a crossroads in his career. Having recently left QT Marshall in his past, Hobbs was ready to write the next chapter in the Book of Hobbs on his own. Tonight, we will hear from Hobbs – as he says what to expect from his future here on AEW Collision.
Called to the ring by Tony Schiavone, Hobbs would hit the ring – wearing the peace offering that Marshall offered last week.
With the Book of Hobbs in hand, he’d hit the ring where an opportunity presented itself. All Out is in the building where Collision began, and Hobbs intends to make an impact there.
The next chapter of The Book Of Hobbs is titled ‘Redemption’ – and how does he do that after losing the TNT Championship. After losing the Owen Hart Memorial Tournament.
There’s only one way to do this – to call out The Redeemer. Miro would be challenged to hit the ring, but Aaron Solo & Nick Comoroto would attack.
Hobbs didn’t show much as this attack happened, but used the opening to hit the Last Will & Testament Spinebuster – before standing above Miro. The challenge is set for All Out, and Miro is not one to let an attack like this stand.
