Christian Cage found himself stuck between a rock and a hard place last week, when Darby Allin challenged him to a match. Cage has been parading himself around with the TNT Championship over his shoulder, despite Luchasaurus being the champion.
With Allin set to challenge for the belt at All Out – he wants to ensure that Cage doesn’t get involved, and the best way to do that is to beat him tonight.
Christian Cage Wrestles A Perfect Match
Cage would drive Allin into the corner with a choke as this match began, with Allin getting Cage in a Hammerlock. Cage would be sent to the floor, and Allin would tease a dive to the floor – completely fooling Cage. Back in the ring, Allin would be put in a Hammerlock and lifted high into a slam, landing hard on his arm.
Cage would send Allin arm first into the corner, and yanked on the arm when he was on the floor. Allin would be whipped out to the floor, and Cage distracted the referee as Luchasaurus would throw Allin spine first into the apron. Back in the ring, Allin would be taken into an arm lock, before Cage just stomped on his shoulder.
Cage would use the ropes to continue the all out assault on Allin’s shoulder, but Allin would throw strikes with his good arm – only to be dropped with an armbreaker for a two count. Cage would try for an O’Connor Roll, only for Allin to kick out and springboard off the ropes with a crossbody.
Allin would try a variety of quick pinfall attempts – getting a two count on Cage and sending him to the apron. Cage would catch Allin as he tried for a strike, and used the ropes to slingshot Allin face first into the canvas. Allin was unable to get anything going against Cage, who took time to taunt Allin using the TNT Championship.
Darby Allin Is Fearless
Back in the ring, Cage would trap the arm of Allin before a scoop slam – continuing the attack on the arm. Allin would try for the Stunner, but took the Inverted DDT instead.
Cage would make a callout to his longtime partner Edge by trying for the spear – but took a kick to the face and the Code Red for a two count. Allin would meet Cage face to face with an unintentional headbutt.
Both men would try to get to their feet, but collided again – causing another double down. Allin would throw strikes with Cage in the middle of the ring, neither man wanting to give in.
Cage would distract the referee, allowing for Luchasaurus to get a cheap shot in on Allin – the Right Hand of Destruction earning his pay tonight.
Allin would get into the ring and found his third winds, hitting a flurry of Coffin Splashes and a running dropkick in the ring on Cage.
Allin would try for a Coffin Drop on Luchasaurus, but was caught and thrown aside. Cage took advantage, and tossed Allin head first into the barricade – before being dropped face first into a steel chair by Allin.
Allin had Cage take a seat in the chair, and dove to the floor with a missile dropkick. Cage would be rolled into the ring for the Coffin Drop, but pulled himself to the apron – but Allin dove towards the apron. Luchasaurus would pull Cage to safety, and Allin landed on the hardest part of the ring with nothing to soften his fall.
Christian Cage Gets The Last Laugh
While Luchasaurus was being ejected from ringside, Cage would use the TNT Championship to bash Allin in the head. Thinking he had the win, Cage went for the pinfall – only for Allin to get his foot on the bottom rope. Avoiding the spear again, Allin would follow up with a dropkick on Cage.
Taking Cage to the top rope was a mistake, as Allin was thrown to the mat with a powerbomb – and rolled to his feet and was cut down with the Spear.
Somehow, Allin was able to keep fighting. Killswitch was set by Cage, but Allin blocked into a Jackknife pinfall – locking his hands – and Cage was unable to kick out. Darby Allin has won the main event, and in two weeks – gets his title shot at All Out.
A beaten Allin would call Luchasaurus into the ring, but was victim of a two on one attack from Cage & Luchasaurus, taking a massive chokeslam.
Tony Schiavone was there to give an interview, but was instead forced to count the pinfall on Allin – and announce him still the TNT Champion.
