The mourning for Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) will continue as each will grieve his passing in their own way, while others will be making plans or questioning their decisions before it’s too late.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers Thursday, August 17: Taking back Abe’s rightful place
After being thwarted by Clint Rawlings (Grayson Berry) to reclaim his position as mayor, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) are going to come up with a plan to turn the tables on their acting mayor.
We assume they’re going to try to discredit him in some way to force him to resign, but that wouldn’t have been necessary had Abe slowed down instead of jumping right into the fire.
Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) tried to warn him, but he probably felt guilty about Chanel DuPree (Raven Bowens) losing her business because he was missing and he wanted to help.
Someone should’ve warned him he needed to study people and learn who they are since that’s the main reason his attempt was thwarted, but now we get to see what he and Paulina come up with.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers Thursday, August 17: Kate grieves
As word of Victor’s death spreads, we’re going to get a glimpse into what he meant to many of Salem’s denizens as they look back at their memories for him.
While some like Kayla and Steve won’t really grieve as much as reminisce, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) will be hit hard by the news.
She has a long history with Victor, but they also share a son and she may feel guilty for having him in a mental hospital and away from Victor so they could let the world think he’s dead.
That’ll be time Phillip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) will never get back, and she’ll be doubly worried about how he’ll handle the news.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers Thursday, August 17: Chloe has doubts
In a curious twist, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) will have some doubts about Xander Cool (Paul Telfer), and we suspect it’ll have to do with everyone hounding her about him.
But there could be more, such as she could find him drunk after he heard about Victor’s passing and think he’s back to some of his old games.
When she learns he’s grieving, her doubts will fade, but she may still have some concerns and that’ll be a fun conversation.
