Christian Cage would claim he successfully defended the TNT Championship on AEW Collision, winning a triple threat match with the belt on the line against Darby Allin & Luchasaurus.
However, he’s not yet done with Allin – as Tony Khan needs one more match for Cage to truly be undisputed as champion. At WrestleDream, it will be Best Two Out Of Three falls – but tonight, they sit down with the Hall of Fame voice of wrestling – Jim Ross.
Christian Cage Doesn’t Need Luchasaurus To Defeat Darby Allin
Ross stated that this match is too important to be ruined – so there is no physicality until Sunday. Allin has beaten Cage twice – so why will a Two Out Of Three Falls match help Cage?
Simply put, Allin isn’t half the man or wrestler Cage is, and that will be proven at WrestleDream. Allin would have his dead uncle brought up – and he’d admit that yeah, his uncle is dead.
Cage would try to bait Allin to show up with his family and friends, especially Nick Wayne – who was key in taking Allin’s eye off the ball at All Out.
Allin would say that Cage is hiding behind Luchasaurus – and Cage would say he doesn’t need his Right Hand of Destruction. At WrestleDream – he will simply beat Allin, and ensure he never touches the belt again.
Orange Cassidy Gets Back To Winning
At AEW WrestleDream, we have a four way tag team match to determine who will challenge the winner of FTR vs. Aussie Open. Young Bucks, Lucha Bros, The Gunns & OrangeHOOK will battle for this shot – and tonight, we will see a Fatal Four Way match.
Penta El Zero Miedo, Matt Jackson, Orange Cassidy & Austin Gunn will all represent their teams – and get a chance at momentuem before WrestleDream.
Jackson would hit a DDT on Penta as the match began, before being sent to the floor by Cassidy with a flying armdrag.
Austin & Penta would taunt in the ring, and Penta would whack Austin with a chop to control the ring. Cassidy would take Penta out, before Austin got the cheap shot – and would control the ring and Cassidy.
Jackson would hit the ring and hit Snap Suplexes on Austin & Cassidy before Penta would catch Jackson with one. Cassidy would hit a suplex, and Penta would hit another and got back in control. A draping double stomp in the corner was stopped by Austin, before Penta would hit some headbutts.
Penta was sent out to the floor, and Cassidy would hit a lazy dive to the floor onto Penta & Jackson. Back in the ring, Penta would hit a Canadian Destroyer on Cassidy, before taking one from Jackson.
Cassidy hit one of his own, before a second on Austin. All four men would fall – and Jackson was the first up – hitting a Sliced Bread before the Locomotion Northern Lights Suplexes.
Penta would block a BTE Trigger attempt, before a Slingblade on Austin landed. Fear Factor on Jackson was blocked with an Orange Punch.
Cassidy would take the Fame Asser – but was able to kick out. A triple superkick dropped Austin, before Jackson was levelled with the Orange Punch to end the match.
