The professional wrestling world is still trying to process some recent news from All Elite Wrestling. Following their biggest show – we would see Tony Khan be forced to fire one of their biggest stars.
CM Punk would get into a backstage fight with Jack Perry, and also would try to attack Khan himself. This wasn’t the first backstage issue for Punk – but simply the last straw. Things remain uncertain – and Chris Jericho isn’t a fan of seeing made up news about the situation.
Chris Jericho Isn’t A Fan Of Fake AEW News
A post from NoDQ would catch the attention of the former AEW World Heavyweight Champion earlier today. The post would read the following.
“Right now, AEW is in the middle of a full-blown crisis and it’s not looking like there is an end in sight. CM Punk has been fired and is probably ready to go nuclear on the company in multiple ways.”
This was posted to the opinion portion of the NoDQ website – but sending it out onto Twitter/X would put more eyes on this. It also made it look like a news report, especially with the wording. Upon seeing it, Chris Jericho would post the following.
“Hey @LastCallwChrisC, this is the shoddiest piece of bullshit, lying journalism I’ve read in a long time. Next time you wanna attempt to “write”something, check your sources, your spelling and your ass out the door. Oh and go fuck yourself too.”
The Last Straw For Jericho On The Situation
Jericho is someone who used Twitter/X fairly lightly – never scared to share how he truly feels. This is unlikely the first time he’s seen false reports or opinions about the situation between AEW & Punk.
Much like how All In was the last straw for Punk’s time in AEW, this tweet could have been Jericho’s last straw at keeping his mouth quiet about the situation.
AEW is keeping any news regarding Punk closely guarded – but given Jericho’s position in the company – he has more info than the average fan.
Jericho has built up a strong relationship with Tony Khan, proving himself to be one of the most reliable names in the company alongside Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson.
