It has been a long time since Julia Hart has tasted defeat in an AEW ring. She’s been building up a very strong undefeated record – and the last woman to defeat her is the current TBS Champion, Kris Statlander.
Statlander looks to crush another winning streak like she did when she sent Jade Cargill packing from AEW. Hart has changed a lot since their meeting back in 2022 – and looks to show her growth tonight.
Coming into this match – Hart has a 28 match win streak, the best streak active in AEW today. Meanwhile, Statlander is on a 14 singles match win streak since becoming TBS Champion.
Kris Statlander Gets Pushed To Her Limit By Julia Hart
Hart would be driven into the corner as the match began, before sending Statlander to the floor. A superkick would catch Statlander below the jaw as she came back into the ring before a shoulder tackle dropped Hart.
A hurricanrana would send Statlander into the corner, but a splash into the corner saw her caught – with Hart being lifted into a suplex and being driven into the canvas.
Hart slipped from the ring and pulled Statlander out with her. Statlander would get Hart on her shoulders and lift her to the apron. House of Black’s Brody King would distract Statlander – allowing Hart to slip off the shoulders and trip Statlander onto the apron.
Statlander would be whipped into the barricade until Hart brought this back into the ring, driving the knees into the spine.
Abdominal Stretch would be applied, with Hart hitting elbow strikes to the ribs for extra pressure. Statlander would break free and hit a running knee strike to set up the Blue Thunder Bomb – getting a near fall.
Hart would try to get the mist to stun Statlander, but was stopped by a slap to the face. Deadlift German Suplex would drop Hart, and Statlander would look for a dive off the top rope.
Hart would be able to stop Statlander, and hit a moonsault herself – but Statlander got her foot on the bottom rope to break the pinfall.
HartLess would be applied in the middle of the ring, and Statlander would power her way back to her feet. She would lift Hart into the Tombstone Piledriver, before Sunday Night Fever to get victory from the jaws of defeat. Hart has tasted defeat once again, all thanks to Kris Statlander.
Four Top Tag Teams Look For A Future Title Shot
The AEW World Tag Team Championships are some of the most important belts in the world – and tonight, one team has a chance to earn a shot at the time of their choosing.
The Young Bucks, The Gunns & Lucha Bros are all former champions – with Young Bucks having held the belts twice. Meanwhile, HOOK & Orange Cassidy are a fairly fresh team – but given the recent dominance of Cassidy as International Champion? They can’t be overlooked.
Nick Jackson would start with Rey Fenix, a preview of their singles match this Wednesday for the 4th Anniversary of Dynamite.
Cassidy would tag himself in and stared down the current International Champion, and punched Fenix in the face. Orange Punch would be avoided, and Fenix tried for the driver but he’d collapse.
The Gunns would whip Fenix into the barricade, before Penta got sent into the post. Colton would tag into the match, and Cassidy would roll him up for a two count. Austin would get in next, and tried to pin his brother – but the referee didn’t allow this.
The Bucks would hit double superkick on The Gunns – before a backbreaker/neckbreaker combo on Cassidy.
HOOK would tag in for a piece of Matt Jackson, and Matt would hit a Suplex, before HOOK showed him how it goes.
They’d trade Northern Lights Suplexes, before Matt would finally be dumped on his head with an Exploder Suplex. The Gunns would go after HOOK with a double suplex, but Cassidy made the save and hit a double suplex of their own.
Never Bet Against The Young Bucks
Penta would try to get the Fear Factor on Austin, with Colton nailing HOOK with the jumping elbow smash to the back of the neck.
Fenix was being checked by the ringside doctor after his earlier issues, and The Gunns would be keen on putting Penta with him. The Gunns would isolate HOOK from every possible tag, but it was Penta who made the save.
Penta would hit slingblades, backstabbers and superkicks as he gained control. The Made In Japan driver would land on Colton, but Austin made the save.
Orange Cassidy & Matt were in next to try to make the save – taking out Colton on the floor. Penta would dive onto the pile, and HOOK made a blind tag to become legal. Cassidy would hit the Orange Punch to set up the REDRUM from HOOK.
Austin was being choked out, but Matt got the tag to Austin and hit the 450 Splash as the tap out was tapping out. Young Bucks would set up the BTE Trigger on Penta – and earned a chance to become three time AEW World Tag Team Champions.
