At AEW WrestleDream, Adam Copeland would make his debut for All Elite Wrestling. This came after his last in-ring run for WWE as Edge, which concluded in a first time match against Sheamus in Toronto.
With decades of main event experience, Copeland has a chance to pass his knowledge down to younger names in AEW and perhaps help get past some bad habits that years on the indies put into some talent.
Kevin Nash Hopes Adam Copeland Can Help Younger Talent In AEW
While speaking on his Kliq This podcast – Kevin Nash would speak on the potential impact of Copeland as part of the AEW roster. Nash was quoted saying the following.
“I pray that Edge doesn’t get hurt, but he’s a great addition. Their style is so different than the WWE’s style, it’s kind of more of an indie-riffic. I think by bringing in somebody like Edge, he has always worked a main event style, he’s been at the top of the WWE for a very long time. I think you put him with some of the younger guys and stop some of the bad habits that the other guys have and use a little bit more psychology and better storytelling.”
When it comes to people who have mastered the main event WWE style, Copeland is at the top. His rise to the top of WWE was a rapid one, with him winning his first WWE Championship in 2006.
While he was forced into retirement in 2011, his return to WWE saw him jump right back into main event level matches against Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, and Roman Reigns.
Copeland makes his AEW in-ring debut tomorrow night against former AEW World Tag Team & TNT Champion Luchasaurus.
This comes as part of AEW Title Tuesday, a rare Tuesday night episode of AEW Dynamite. Also on the card is Bryan Danielson vs. vs. Jon Moxley and Saraya vs. Hikaru Shida.
