General Hospital star Cameron Mathison (Drew Quartermaine) and his wife, Vanessa Mathison, have announced their separation after 22 years of marriage. The couple shared the news in a joint statement posted to their respective Instagram accounts.

“After 22 years of marriage, we have made the difficult decision to part ways,” the statement read. “We enter this new chapter with deep love, kindness, and respect for each other. We hold gratitude in our hearts for the wonderful years we shared together. Our children have been and will continue to be our highest priority, and we will forever share in our devotion and love for them. We remain friends, and both wish the best for one another. We sincerely appreciate your respect for our family’s privacy during this transition.”
Mathison and the former Vanessa Arevalo met in 1998 while the actor was starring on All My Children. They tied the knot in 2002 and welcomed son Lucas in 2003 and daughter Leila in 2006.

The couple’s announcement comes amidst significant milestones for their children. Son Lucas is set to pursue fashion design at Central Saint Martins in London, while daughter Leila is heading to American University in Paris to study psychology.
Mathison recently shared photos of their family trip to Arizona as they prepared for their children’s new chapters.
