When it comes to Ronda Rousey in WWE, she never exactly got the warm welcome she was hoping for. Fans have given her a hard time since Day One – booing her out of the arena on a few occasions. However, while she has never shied away from letting her thoughts be known outside of WWE, she’s kept away from giving fans a piece of her mind in WWE events – all out of respect for Vince McMahon.
Ronda Rousey Has Some Issues With WWE Fans
On the latest episode of Ronda On The Road, she’d go into detail on how she truly feels about WWE fans. Namely, when she was playing the babyface role yet getting booed by the fans in the arena.
“I think one of the most uncomfortable and disingenuous I’ve ever felt was when I had to be a babyface and the crowd was being hostile towards me and I couldn’t just tell them exactly what I f*cking felt. I was stuck between, do I stay true to myself and tell them to go f*ck themselves, or do I, you know, respect Vince who has done so much for me, and not go against what he wants me to do?”
In the end, Ronda would grit her teeth and work through this. WWE would end up turning Ronda heel – which ended up fitting her more naturally. During her return run in 2022, she’s been leaning towards babyface once again – recently teaming with Naomi to defeat Sonya Deville & Charlotte Flair at Elimination Chamber.
On Her Way To The Main Event Of Wrestlemania
With having won the 2022 Royal Rumble, Rousey is going to face Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania. This match has been confirmed for the first night of Wrestlemania – where it will take the main event slot. Fans have been less than happy about this choice, and are likely to voice their displeasure at Wrestlemania.
Given the opinion of Ronda Rousey on WWE fans – we will have to wait to see how she is able to react to this.
