Corey Graves is a well known name with WWE fans – having been one of the voices of the company since his time in NXT. From NXT Takeovers to Wrestlemania, Graves has called countless matches – but he didn’t join WWE with commentary in mind.
He signed to the company as a wrestler, and was even able to win the NXT Tag Team Champion alongside Neville. However, a series of concussions would take him out of the ring in 2014 – which lead to him getting a shot at commentary.
Corey Graves Is Cleared To Return To The Ring In WWE
Earlier this year, rumours would circulate that Corey Graves had been cleared for a return to the ring. With the Royal Rumble coming and going without Graves hitting the ring however, fans were starting to wonder about the truth of this rumour. The Royal Rumble is the perfect place to make a return – and fans expect surprises in the matches.
Despite not showing up in the ring at that event – it doesn’t change that Graves is cleared, as the man himself has now confirmed this. While speaking with TMZ about his upcoming YouTube series alongside girlfriend and fellow WWE superstar Carmella – Graves had the following to say.
“I went and spent some time with doctors in the middle of last year. I kinda got the itch. This is one of the first times I’m saying this publicly. I have been medically cleared to compete. It’s not an immediate goal of mine, it was just something I needed to know for my own sanity. My journey in the ring got cut short and it’s kinda eaten at me for years, always wondering what if, what if there’s a chance, what if there’s an opportunity … so I went and did the necessary steps and it turns out I’m more okay than I thought I was.”
