Publication Apologizes After Incorrectly Claiming Queen Elizabeth Had Died -‘I’ve Never Been Wrong’

Publication Apologizes After Incorrectly Claiming Queen Elizabeth Had Died -'I’ve Never Been Wrong'

The CEO of ‘Hollywood Unlocked,’ Jason Lee who is in charge of the entertainment publication, has apologized after his platform had incorrectly reported a story claiming that Queen Elizabeth had died.

Major Publication Apologises After Incorrectly Claiming That Queen Elizabeth Had Died-‘I’ve Never Been Wrong’

It is no secret that the monarch is in poor health. And things were not helped by her recent diagnosis in which she had tested positive for Covid-19.

While that was the case, Jason sent alarm bells around the world when he had decided to give the go ahead to a story which stated that the monarch was dead.

This was especially worrying since that story had broken out before any official Royal sources had reported on it.

In the story at the time, the publication said: “Sources close to the Royal Kingdom notified us exclusively that Queen Elizabeth has passed away.

“She was scheduled to attend the wedding of British Vogue editor Edward Enninful, but was found dead.” When it turned out that this was not the case, Jason did not help things for the following reasons.

First of all, in the aftermath, he doubled down on his beliefs that his sources were correct. This clearly could not stand the test of time, given that the Queen was clearly alive.

Secondly, in any event, by reporting such a major news story, people could not fathom why Jason did not go through his own due diligence to make sure that his sources were up to scratch.

Therefore, in light of the backlash that has emerged, Jason felt he had no choice but to hold his hands up and apologise for everything.

In an official statement, he remarked: “Although I’ve never been wrong when breaking a story because this involves The Queen this is one time I would want to be.

“And based on Wednesday’s report from the Palace, I can say my sources got this wrong and I sincerely apologise.”

Hopefully, Jason can avoid experiencing something similar like this once again. And the only way for him to do that is to only give the green light to something if he is 100% sure that it is correct.
