Prince William was reportedly distraught when Prince Harry decided to speak out against the Royal family after leaving in 2020 with Meghan Markle.

That is according to Royal author Robert Hardman. The primary reason why this was the case was due to the fact that Harry and Meghan were so vocal about their condemnation towards the Royal family.
After all, they did reveal that their son Archie was subjected to racist remarks, while Meghan was driven to the thought of suicidal thoughts. And for William, there was a feeling that these issues could have been addressed behind closed doors.
In his book entitled ‘‘Queen Of Our Times: The Life Of Elizabeth II’ Robert wrote: “For Prince William, there was the added anguish of seeing the younger brother whom he had protected…now throwing incendiary and, in some cases, unanswerable charges into the public domain.”
This tension has been seen in the aftermath. Upon Harry’s return to the UK when he attended Prince Philip’s funeral, there was an uneasy atmosphere as Kate Middleton sought to bridge the distance between the pair.
Not only that, but Harry has not returned to the UK with Meghan Markle as pair ever since they left. Instead, Harry has kept his appearances to a minimum by only attending when his absence would otherwise create more scrutiny.
Robert added: “William,’ says one friend, ‘was as low as I’d ever seen him. Since the Oprah interview, the brothers have only met twice — at Prince Philip’s funeral and at the unveiling of the statue of their mother at Kensington Palace.”
The two brothers have been through a lot. They were both very young when their late mother, Princess Diana, had tragically died in a car crash in Paris. And to see them not be on very good terms is the last thing that they would want.
