The chances of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle receiving a Nobel Peace Prize are very slim despite their fans wishes.
Supporters Of Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Want Them To Receive The Nobel Peace Prize But Not Everyone Is Convinced-‘A Little Unrealistic’
The primary reason why this has even become a topic has been due to the couple recently receiving recognition at the NAACP awards for their public service.
Not only that, but they decided to expand on their work overseas by donating to female organizations in Afghanistan following the takeover of the Taliban.
All of this has led to calls by supporters of the duo to see them getting the Nobel Peace Prize. And yet, for some, this was very hard to see.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward said: “With the Nobel Prize, it is usually very obvious so I rather doubt they would be awarded it so early in their ‘good works’ career.”
Meanwhile, professor Pauline MacLaran remarked: “Their recent NAACP award has given their brand much more credibility but I think a Nobel Peace Prize is a little unrealistic!”
Nevertheless, that did not stop the fans from continuing to demand such a thing. And a certain subset of people viewed it as an attempt to recognize the huge sacrifice that the couple had made in leaving the Royal family to give back to the community.
One such user wrote: “If Greta doesn’t get Nobel Peace Prize then it should go to Meghan Duchess of Sussex or Justin Trudeau.” The reality of this happening is unlikely when we look at the previous winners of the award.
Former United States President Barack Obama is one of many illustrious people that have walked away with the award.
And given that former Presidents have been honoured, it is very hard to make a case for the couple who had benefited from the riches of the Royal family. Not only that, but with public opinion not on their side, an award is not bound to be welcomed.
Time will tell if the couple do end up being in the conversation, but given what they have done in terms of public work, the chances of this happening are extremely unlikely.
