Prince Harry has purportedly increased tensions in the royal family after publicly declaring that he will be present at the Invictus Games. The Duke of Sussex recently did a brief video where he affirmed that he will be at the 2022 edition of the games which commences just a few weeks after his grandfather’s memorial service.
Prince Harry Set To Attend The Invictus Games
According to a royal source, the royal family is reportedly unhappy that Prince Harry chose the Invictus games over a family reunion. The source said that “It was also hoped that the Queen would meet his daughter Lilibet for the first time and that would make it even more of a special occasion. Now none of that will go ahead – yet he is willing to travel to Holland for the Invictus Games, which is only 300-miles away. It will certainly raise eyebrows and most probably hurt feelings.”
Prince Harry Increases Tensions In The Royal Family After Declaring That He Will Be Present At Invictus Games
Since relocating with his family to the United States, the Duke of Sussex has only returned home for Prince Philip’s burial and the unveiling of his late mother’s monument. His legal representatives claimed some time ago that he will not return to the UK soon as he felt unsafe in the UK without any security protection.
The estranged Prince was subjected to widespread condemnation, a few days ago, when he revealed through his spokesman that he will miss Prince Philip’s memorial service due to his ongoing security protection tussle with the Home Office.
The UK police agency had insisted that the Duke of Sussex will not receive any personal security protection when he returns home from the US. However, many royal experts have claimed that the Duke of Sussex is only trying to snub the Queen and using his security issues with the UK Home Office as an excuse to achieve it.
Though Harry has withstood widespread pressure from many powerful people and royal fans to return home, he is still expected to be in the UK for the platinum celebrations of the Queen.
