Elon Musk has controversially challenged Russian President Vladimir Putin to a fight with the winner picking up Ukraine.

The billionaire first got himself involved in the conflict after reports emerged that he had provided satellites to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that enabled Ukrainian citizens to maintain their connection to the internet.
Not only that, but he also followed this up by having a zoom call with the Ukrainian President in which he expressed his hope of being able to visit the country at some point.
And now it seems that Elon has thrown down the gauntlet to Putin by issuing him with an ultimatum. In a post on Twitter, he said: “I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat. Stakes are Ukraine. Do you agree to this fight?”
It is not clear exactly what Elon meant by this, or if his comments were in jest. And yet, the comments provide some interesting talking points. First of all, Putin does have a black belt in Judo.
Therefore, it is unrealistic that the billionaire would be speaking in that regard. Secondly, given that Elon has provided satellites to Ukraine, his comments could be referring to this type of warfare.
Regardless of his motives, the Russian regime has not responded which is hardly a surprise. This is despite Elon’s actions in tagging the Kremlin account.
The response on social media was very mixed. A certain subset of people praised Elon for continuing to stand up to the Russian regime. Meanwhile, others felt that this was only a publicity stunt to keep himself relevant.
One person wrote: “This is not news. It’s a man seeking attention while people are suffering and dying at the hands of Putin.”
While another person stated: “This man has done so much for ukraine,ex. starlink/donations,hes firing shots at putin steaming off, seeking attention isn’t his MO.”
