Ladies and gentlemen, tonight is Monday night! The last Monday before Christmas! I’m sure for some people this is like the exact opposite of a holiday… for me, it’s uh, any other Monday really. Which means it’s preview time! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and tonight… I’m cheatin’~! WWE Raw is tonight and as usual they only see fit to give me a couple of things to work with but that’s fine! I don’t need to wait for them to officially announce things when the whole show’s been taped all along for a whole week!
We’ve got about 20 minutes left ’til showtime as of this writing so I should get a move on!
Tony Nese vs. Ricochet
Ricochet is considered one of the most promising prospects in the entire WWE, and for good reason. He’s probably the best high flier in the world, top three at the very least, and at his peak is just a captivating guy to watch. He has a flashy entrance helping him out in WWE but not much else. Still, even though like damn near every call-up in existence he’s taken major setbacks and stop and start pushes, he’s endured it well enough that he’s still far from a lost cause. He has a background angle with Randy Orton still going on, after all.
Tony Nese had his WWE peak at WrestleMania this year where he defeated his former ally Buddy Murphy for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Barring a move to NXT, that’s probably going to remain his peak for the foreseeable future. But he’s a stunning athlete. In addition to having all the speed and flash you’d want from a Cruiserweight, he’s also very powerful and chiseled as hell. He’s got some PAC vibes to him in a few ways, not quite on that level but close enough to be extremely impressive.
Ricochet is actually deceptively very strong too though he hasn’t shown that too often. So this is a pretty even match-up and should make for a very exciting battle. Ricochet to win, of course.
