Becky Lynch has been able to hold onto the RAW Women’s Championship since it was handed to Lynch following the WWE Draft. Liv Morgan, Doudrop and even WWE Hall of Famer Lita were unable to take the gold from Lynch. Now, one year after winning the Smackdown Women’s Championship from Sasha Banks in the main event of WrestleMania 37 – Bianca Belair takes her shot at Lynch. Lynch was the one to end Belairs reign, squashing her in under a minute at Summerslam – so tonight’s about more than just gold.
Gable Steveson Gets Shown Off To WWE Fans
Before this match, we’d have Stephanie McMahon hype up Gable Steveson. He won the gold medal in Tokyo, claimed another NCAA tournament win – and has be signed to a WWE contract for while yet.
Steveson has been drafted to Monday Night RAW, and is planning to make his debut in the middle of April. Fans had hoped to see him make his debut at Wrestlemania, but we will have to wait for him to make his debut later this month.
Both Ladies Arrive In Style
Becky Lynch road up to Wrestlemania in style, while Belair would have her theme played by a marching band. Lynch had a new look after having her hair chopped off by Belair. Both ladies would look for their finish out of the gate, with Lynch able to nail the Manhandle Slam for a near fall.
She wouldn’t be able to pull off the Summerslam repeat, and would nail a fast leg drop soon after. Belair would nail a suplex, with Lynch countering the second. Lynch went up top and looked for the moonsault, with Belair dodging and applying Dis-Arm-Her. Belair would be rolled up for a two count, before throwing Lynch to the floor.
Lynchy would drag Belair out with her using the braid, before driving her into the steel steps. Back into the ring, Belair looked for a springboard, but took a superkick halfway over. Lynch nailed the leg drop to the back of the neck, getting a two count.
Bianca Belair Takes The Man Down
Belair would get locked into a sleeper hold, before being freed. Armbar would be applied, and Belair would block into a powerbomb attempt. Both ladies would slip out of the ring, where Belair would nail a suplex. Belair would be furious in the ring with shoulder tackles, before nailing a big gut buster. Lynch would get a roll up for a two count, before being taken up for the Glam Slam. Back handspring moonsault would follow, before taking Lynch to the top rope. Belair dropped Lynch across the top rope, before nailing a 450 Splash for the near fall.
Belair would take a kick to the head, before Lynch went for the Molly Go-Round – but instead just kicking Belair in the eye. Lynch was dropped with a spinebuster before blocking a handspring moonsault. Glam Slam was countered, before Lynch would be dumped to the outside with the KOD.
Belair pulled Lynch back into the ring, but Lynch rolled out the other side. Manhandle Slam onto the steel steps would land, with Belair somehow answer the referees ten count. KoD in the ring would land, and we have a new RAW Women’s Champion!
