Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been blasted over their failure to visit Queen Elizabeth during their trip to Europe for the Invictus Games.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Blasted For Not Visiting The Queen During Their European Trip-‘I Can’t Even Look At Them’
The couple are set to appear at the Invictus Games, which is going to be held in the Netherlands on Saturday, 16th April 2022.
And as this will be Meghan’s first solo trip outside of the United States since she left the Royal family in 2020, there was an expectation that perhaps the couple could have made their way to see the Royal family.
After all, Queen Elizabeth is not in the best of health. But the failure of the couple to do so has drawn a lot of criticism.
In an interview on the Today show, Royal expert Russell Myers said: “He skipped Prince Philip’s memorial. The rest of the Royal Family were there.
“There were royals from all over Europe and still Harry and Megan couldn’t be bothered to turn up. It’s ridiculous.”
In the couple’s defence, Harry has expressed that he does not want to return to the UK unless he is allowed to fund his own security.
Having said that ,though, there is always the question of how long is he going to stick by his principles? And if things continue to go in this manner, then the only reasonable explanation to consider is that perhaps the couple do not ever want to come back.
And if that does turn out to be the case, then from a PR point of view, they should make their feelings known. Failure to do so is only going to lead to more backlash, as shown by the Today show host Karl Stefanovic’s following comments: “‘I can’t even look at them.
“[I used to like Harry] and even Meghan back in the day.” The response from the fans on social media was mixed. People were of the view that both sides (Harry and the Royal family) had a part to play in the stand-off.
One person wrote: “The Queen knows what keeps Harry away from the UK. The royals are aware, & they keep quiet, while Harry is being blamed. Hypocrisy of the highest order, the ultimate.”
