Over the past year in AEW, fans have gotten a good chance to see just what Dante Martin is capable of. Originally signed to the company as part of a tag team alongside his brother Darius Martin, Dante had a big chance to break out in the singles ranks after Darius suffered a leg injury. Darius would recently make his return to the ring – but is already back on the injured list in AEW.
Darius Martin Is Once Again Injured
In news first broken by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, we would learn that Darius Martin is once again injured. He’s expected to miss quite a bit of time once again, but the nature of his injury has not been disclosed at this time. Back to back injuries are sadly very common in professional wrestling.
Darius was able to wrestle just 11 matches, notably facing The Young Bucks on AEW Dynamite – and getting to team up with Matt & Jeff Hardy on AEW Dark: Elevation. Here’s hoping Darius is able to make a complete recovery, and get back into the mix quickly.
Dante Martin Has Already Challenged For The AEW World Heavyweight Championship
In what was meant to be a last singles match before Dante got back into the tag team ranks, he would get a chance to challenge Hangman Page for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. It was a rather simple match, but one that proved that Dante can hang with the best of the best in AEW.
Dante Martin will be fine, but fans were very excited to see him back in the tag team division. Right now, he’s set for a 10 man tag team match against the Undisputed Elite, where he will team with Lee Johnson, Brock Anderson & The Varsity Blondes. On the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, he teamed with Lee Moriarty & Brock Anderson against Blackpool Combat Club.
