A royal source has claimed that Kate Middleton is under consideration to represent Queen Elizabeth at the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. If Kate is eventually chosen by the Queen, she will be honored at the same military institution where Prince William emerged as an officer several years ago.
Kate Middleton Is Ready And Perfect For The Job
The event is a momentous occasion in the Academy’s yearly schedule of events. It is a day that officer cadets in the British Army are commissioned after several weeks of rigorous training and education. Kate has turned up for countless military events with her husband, Prince William, in the past.
Kate Middleton Is Expected To Represent The Queen At Sandhurst
While she was still dating William, she even escorted him to a military function. As Duchess, she frequently escorts her husband to award ceremonies and regimental festivities. This proves that she is well-versed in customs and etiquette. Moreover, if Kate did take her place at the parade, it would be a great homage to the monarch who is the commander-in-chief of the armed services.
The Duchess has already been Queen Elizabeth’s representative at a ceremony to honor officer cadets who finished their commissioning courses, six years ago. Princess Anne has also served up to six times as the Sovereign’s Representative, in some military functions. Kate’s possible appearance means that she will be given an honorary military position at Sandhurst.
This would be the first time in the regiment’s 366-year history that a woman would hold the rank of colonel. In the last few months, high-ranking members of the royal family have represented the Queen at many events.
So Kate Middleton fulfilling the Queen’s duties could be a promising sign for her. Queen Elizabeth has not been able to turn up for several royal engagements due to her recent mobility challenge. However, the 96-year-old monarch is still expected to star at her platinum festivities.
