Since his WWE release back 2018, W. Morrissey has really proved himself as a wrestler. Once just viewed as the muscle in a tag team with Enzo Amore, he’s since moved into being a main event level wrestler for Impact Wrestling. However, Morrissey hopes to do more than just compete for Impact.
W. Morrissey Hopes To Make His New Japan Pro Wrestling Debut Soon
While speaking with Renee Paquette on The Sessions podcast, W. Morrisey would define his goals for the future of his career. He’s hoping to have his debut for NJPW Strong come soon.
“Yeah, I want to work as much as possible right now. I have my obligation to IMPACT and I want to do as many independents as possible. I’d really like to work with New Japan STRONG. They are in the United States. Jon Moxley just did a show with them this past weekend. I’d really like to work with them. I’d like to work with Will Ospreay, Jon, obviously — I’ve only been able to work with him one time. I just want to work as much as possible and keep improving, get as good as I fucking can be to make myself the hottest commodity I can be.”
Making His AEW Debut Soon?
Morrissey is already set for a major debut this Wednesday for AEW. He’s been teased as the next opponent of Wardlow, with MJF calling on heavyweights to try and take down his former bodyguard. Lance Archer & Butcher have already failed, but there are doubts on if Wardlow can hit Morrissey with a powerbomb.
Morrissey has a chance to gain a lot of hype with this match, as it will give him his biggest exposure since his time in WWE. This time in AEW is his chance to show just how far he’s come, and perhaps even secure a longer term deal with AEW. He’s been in a relationship with AEW Backstage Interviewer Lexy Nair since April 2021 – a potential in with AEW.
