‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ star Ashley Darby recently announced that she is separating from her husband Michael Darby after eight years of marriage, but they’re still living together.
Ashley revealed the status of her and Michael’s living arrangement during an interview with Fox 5 DC. When the host asked how she was doing, she replied, “Well, I’m great. My kids are pretty young. My son is two, my other son is one so they don’t really have an awareness. Michael and I are still living together, we’re still under the same roof, so no difference for them.”

Ashley and Michael have had a controversial relationship from the start. Not only is her husband Michael 29 years older than her, but he has also been the subject of numerous scandals. He was accused of sexually assaulting a cameraman while filming their reality show and he was also caught on camera sharing a bed with a stripper while Ashley was away on a cast trip.
Despite Michael’s many misgivings, Ashley alluded to their split not being about his bad reputation. “It is more of a recent thing. My marriage has been through quite a lot,” she said. “I’ve been open about that on the show. We’ve had issues with infidelity that we’ve overcome. It’s nothing of that nature.I do give more of an insight as to how and why we got to this place (on the show) and it’s not for the reasons that a lot of people think.”
The reality personality also said that she couldn’t reveal too much about the demise of their relationship because they are currently filming the seventh season of ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’. Fans are avidly hoping to get an inside look at what led to their split.
Ashley released a statement on April 19 announcing the end of her and Michael’s marriage. “People will be quick to assume that the causes were too much intrusion by reality TV into the most personal parts of our lives, age gap issues, cultural problems, or child-rearing differences. Pieces of all these may have affected our pure love for each other, but no one reason is the root cause of our mutual decision to go our separate ways,” she said.
She also noted that although their “romantic bond is broken” they “will always love and respect each other”. Ashley and Michael Darby tied the knot in 2014 and have two sons; Dean, 2, and Dylan, 1. Per the couple’s prenuptial agreement, Ashley is expected to receive quite a hefty payout in the event of divorce.
