The final days of Ring of Honor as we knew it came in 2021, and without one of their biggest names. Former two time ROH World Champion RUSH was on the injured list on the emotional build to Final Battle: End of An Era. It was due to a knee injury, which required surgery to get RUSH back to health. But now, the time is coming for him to return to the ring… and RUSH seems to have taken aim at some of the biggest names in AEW.
RUSH Wants To Face Some ROH Legends – And Current AEW Greats
While RUSH was on the injured list, ROH was sold by Sinclair Broadcasting Group, and is now owned by Tony Khan. Khan was able to take Supercard of Honor to sold out status, and has continued to support ROH by placing their top titles on AEW programming. There are plans to bring ROH back to TV in time, with specials like Supercard of Honor coming throughout the year.
Now, RUSH is taking advantage of this – and is seemingly looking to take on some iconic names from ROH history, and the biggest names in AEW. He’d send out a tweet earlier this evening, saying the following.
“anywhere, anytime i’m ready for that and more… just remember you mess with the bull you get the horns !!!”
Attached was a picture of himself, with smaller pictures of Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, and Kenny Omega. Danielson & Punk were recently put into the ROH Hall of Fame – and Omega got some of his first exposure within ROH.
El Toro Blanco Could Get An AEW/ROH Contract Soon
Right now, the AEW roster is fairly packed – but Tony Khan has been building up a separate roster for ROH. The likes of Brian Cage & Kaun are set to be stars of ROH. Getting RUSH on contract would give a familiar name to ROH fans, and a potential star for AEW.
RUSH also has links to NJPW, having previously been involved in tournaments like World Tag League & the G1 Climax. He’s also one of the best friends of Andrade – and together formed the Los Ingobernables faction alongside, which lead to the creation of Los Ingobernables de Japon – one of the biggest factions in NJPW.
