At WrestleMania Backlash Ronda Rousey defeated Charlotte Flair in a I Quit match and Flair was reportedly injured and will miss some time.
It’s been reported since that Flair is going to take a break from the WWE so she was injured in the storyline as a reason to write her off TV for a while.
Charlotte Flair Taking a Break to Marry AEW’s Andrade El Idolo
It’s typical of what they do in the business and it works. The question that now comes up is this why she dropped the title to Rousey, or was that already going to happen?
It’s one of the curious things fans wonder about when news like this comes out and it pits the pro-Rousey fanbase against the not-so pro fanbase.
However we may feel about Rousey or Flair is always a good discussion, but there appears to be another reason for Flair to be taking her break.
Getting married
There have been reports out that Flair is taking this break so that she and Andrade El Idolo can get married.
It’s not a stretch since Flair recently announced that they are going to get married this summer in BT Sport with Ariel Helwani and said:
“We have a date. It’s this summer, in Mexico. I have my dress.
“I think Manny (Andrade) would be a little angry if I walked down the aisle with my title.
“He was like, ‘Mami, for the wedding, I do not want your hair to look like Charlotte.’ I was like, ‘what does that mean?’ Just less makeup, he likes the fresh face.”
Flair didn’t confirm the actual date, so there’s plenty of room for us to speculate as well as give them time to finalize their preparations.
The couple have been dating since 2019 and announced their engagement in January 2020 after Andrade proposed on New Year’s Eve.
There have been a few rumors swirling around that the couple broke up or called the engagement off, but that’s apparently not the case.
Flair will be missed in the WWE, but it’ll give us a chance to forget about her a little so when she comes back it’ll feel fresh and new.
But more than that, we wish her and Andrade the best and hope that have an awesome ceremony and time away.
