He holds a record of 5-0-0 and had knocked out one of the ‘strongest jaws’ in UFC, Tyron Woodley. However, this seems like not enough to make a name in the boxing world.
Jake Paul Desperate To Prove His Boxing Skills
Not having a fight for around half a year now, he starts to search for action once again. He did several callouts where he challenged many UFC fighters, and some boxers to fight, but until now he was not able to land any of these to sign in a contract.
Amongst the most famous names that he mentions are Mike Tyson, Anderson Silva, Tommy Fury, and Michael Bisping. If he manages to arrange a fight with whoever from the above, that will mean two things for the boxer. Firstly, this might be his chance to prove himself as a boxer, especially if he wins the bout, and secondly, he will end up making a lot of money on just one fight.
Recently, Jake has leaked a video of him training with his trainer. In the short video that he leaks, it can be seen that he lands really fast and strong shots, sounding like gunshots on the pads. He has skills. That is evident. However, does he have a chance to become a champion in the sport? That is what he aspires to be.
There were just rumors that started a couple of months ago that said there might be a Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul bout arranged. Now, these rumors might come true.
Mike Tyson is definitely interested in it since it is predicted that the fight will pass the pay-per-view record that Floyd Mayweather holds at the moment.
Calculations are stating that this potential fight might end up bringing around $300 million to the fighters. And that fuels their will to arrange it as soon as possible.
In one podcast where Mike Tyson features, he says: “I’m going to call him sometime Friday (referring to the next Friday 13th of May) and we’re going to talk, absolutely. He’s a fighter but they don’t want to credit him as being a fighter. He can fight and everybody wants to kick his ass because he pisses everybody off. He’s a great salesman and promoter, he doesn’t even know it. He’s just a natural great promoter.”
These words coming from the Baddest man on the Planet must be worth something. Maybe Jake Paul indeed has a potential as a fighter. Maybe the world needs to give him a chance to prove himself. Who knows, maybe one day, he will really end up being a champion.
