Prince William looked in high spirits after receiving gifts for his kids at a meeting on his second day in Scotland. The Duke of Cambridge was presented with the gifts when he touched down at the Heart of Midlothian Football Club in Edinburgh on Thursday 12th May 2022. William is widely-known to be a passionate football fan. The Prince has been the president of the Football Association (FA) since 2006.

Prince William accepted the delightful present during a meeting with Heart of Midlothian Football Club’s Chief Executive, Andrew McKinlay, and Chair Ann Budge. The Duke was presented with three Heart of Midlothian football jerseys, each displaying his kids’ names. The Duke was visibly chuckling while showing off the little jersey shirt displaying Princess Charlotte’s name.

It was clear that his children will also be pleased with the gifts. A few moments ago, royal expert Jennie Bond told OK! magazine that Charlotte is passionate about football. She said, “She’s not an overly girlie girl. She’s quite full-on – she’ll give her brother George a run for his money on the football pitch and she’s quite sporty in general, like her mother. So I don’t know if it’s a conscious gender-neutral statement, but I think probably she’s just not a girl who would appreciate pink.”
Meanwhile, Prince William was reportedly at the football club to gather more information about an initiative called “The Changing Room”. This programme was introduced by the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) in 2018. The program’s goal is to make men more willing to openly talk about their struggles. The Changing Room project is now fully operational in football clubs throughout Scotland.
In 2020, the Duke of Cambridge organized a related program encompassing Premier League clubs. The programme’s goal was to get people to discuss their mental health with ease, just like they talk about football. The Duke’s meeting in Edinburgh was scheduled as part of William and Kate’s activities focused on mental wellbeing. The Cambridges’ latest royal engagements come only a few days after Prince William attended the State Opening of Parliament.
