James Corden has opened up about his friendship with Prince Harry and had nothing but kind words to say about the royal. The talk show host dished about his bond with Harry and defined him as a ‘devoted husband and father’.
‘I have a huge amount of respect and admiration for Harry, and anyone who has been around him and spent time with him would feel exactly the same way,” said Corden. ‘I think he is a devoted and loving husband and father and I think what they have done [in walking away from the royal life] is incredibly brave and I’ll always be in their corner’.

Corden also revealed that he and his wife Julia Carey have enjoyed an occasional double-date night with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle before saying that he has also visited their multi-million dollar mansion. ‘It was more a sort of play date scenario [with the kids]. Then we went out for dinner after, it was lovely.’
Corden, who recently announced his plans to retire from hosting ‘The Late Late Show,’ had Prince Harry on as a guest shortly before he and Meghan relocated to the United States after stepping down as senior royals. Corden, who originally hails from the UK, has developed a rapport with Harry and Meghan over the years.
James also noted that he’s not ‘judgemental’ towards Harry and Meghan and that he hopes to have them both appear on his late night talk show before his retirement in 2023. Despite their amicable kinship, James also said that he’s not ‘holding his breath’ for that to actually happen.
“Seven and half years ago I started hosting this show and there’s no other way to put it, it has changed my life. ‘I never saw it as my final destination, and I never want this show to overstay its welcome. I love making it and I really think in a year from now that will be a good time to move on and see what’s out there. We are all determined to make this the best year we have ever had…we are going to go out with a bang,’ vowed Corden.
James Corden lives about an hour and a half away from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s abode in Montecito, California. James and Julia share three children – Max, 11, Carey, 7, and Charlotte, 4. Prince Harry and Meghan are the parents of Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1.
