A Cigarette Butt Burned Down the House of “General Hospital” Star Kelly Monaco
Monaco went into the night of the fire to TMZ saying that she was asleep one moment and woke up to find a large fire in her backyard. She said that the flames were right up against the windows. Fortunately, she would escape without injury but her house was scorched.
The 45-year-old soap veteran also had security footage that shows when the fire started and how rapidly it spread. Monaco said “Something as little as a cigarette butt can cause casualties and devastation.”

Monaco’s security footage was taken for investigation by police. She also has a video of firemen dealing with the inferno. While the house wasn’t razed to the ground, a lot of it was torched resulting in “hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages,” according to TMZ.
Kelly Monaco said that she wouldn’t be returning home for a while. That’s 100-percent expected considering an investigation has to be done, then the clean-up, massive repairs looking at the damage done, and furnishing of the place. There’s a lot to do before that house is a home again for Monaco.
